One thing I often forget is just how human the saints are. They are not holy because they're just another race higher than us. They're holy , either because they've done something and realize the gravity of their error, or they know it's possible for them to slip into error. Imagining st Paul haunted by all those he helped put to death is profound. The thought that this horrible error is in every word he says, an error that compels him to love, to fight for the Christian's , to fight heresy. St Paul is not a harsh person. He just knows how far an error can take you
