Viewing this video, a couple of questions come to mind: First, I've been inside SS Shieldhall's engine room; she's oil-fired. So why is so much steam going up the escape pipe? That's just a waste of precious makeup feedwater. I could understand if she was coal-fired and it was difficult for the firemen/watertenders to properly bank the fire. Second, on board which of TE Subcom's Reliance-class cableships is Señor Alec Thompson the mate on watch during this video?
