Playing blob on goon is always difficult and basically impossible unless all the blob players build next to each other like you guys did. But whats crazy about it, is you guys still REALLY struggled (seemingly)... Doesnt it feel they should give the blob players just a little bit more resistance to fire.. etc ? Like the fact that a single flamethrower can wipe out like 10(ish) blob tiles in a row unless you have the robust one... and even that one tends to get destroyed relatively quickly..

Haha, yeah, it was quite the tug of war. It maybe could've gone a little better if I had focused more on ectothermids. Yeah not sure about the fire resistance. I guess like for standard attack items like extinguishers it won't help much unless you increase fire resistance a lot, but not really familiar with the history of blob balancing

Ye no clue on the balancing but it does seem a bit easy for the crew to walk in and suddenly the entire screen is fire and almost every single blob tile in view is gone. If fire is that effective against the blob it should at least turn the crew to a crisp as well but they were just kinda bathing in it. Though the blob did seem to be able to expand really quickly as well so idk, in general it looked more like a battle of the clicks and latency than any sort of tactics!

I feel like part of the issue with blob's balancing is also something ling experiences, in that it requires experience to perform well, and it's much easier for people to develop experience fighting against them than it is for the person playing the antag to get the required experience, because goon1 is highpop hell and goon2 is dead now, so rolling antag is really uncommon, plus most of the time it won't be the antag you're trying to get more experience with.

yea and its also a lot more laidback. i cant tell you how many pipebombs ive made as a nontraitor or as someone without proper clearance

Yeah goon sec will cut you a lot more slack then other servers (me included) only downside to that is most of sec is very robust

Impossible. But on a serious note: cheers, blob sucks sometimes and I'm glad you were able to win.

I would suggest using viewports to monitor at least one core, and warn other blobs when they cores are being destroyed (if you can). Nice victory, I love watching blobs winning.

Thanks, yeah! Reason I wasn't was that I'm just uncertain about performance/lag. Not sure how much viewports affect blob vs. AI, but my biggest worry is lagging out in a fight Agree I could've helped that one blob nucleus that was close to dying a little more, I think they were watching it tho and since the attackers ran off I had just assumed they were okay. Rip.

That’s looks rough af. I feel like one other blob player would help. Have him across the station to yall, so when all three of you deploy. Hell drop somewhere that would allow him to spread without being threaten by flamethrowers or fire. Cause goddamn that fire deals way to much dmg to blob.

Ya there's quite a bit of things to learn. There's a questions channel in the Discord to ask questions in, and there's also an in-game Mentor Help feature where others can answer questions you have
