Thank you Mr Ed, thanks to your information I applied and got approved for survival widows benefits , even tho some one else tell me I did not qualify. But I listen to you and did what you said and got it...

AWESOME!! SOOOO glad to hear that! Remember, you got that information because so many people shared and liked the videos. That's the trick...we have to teach this KZbin algorithm that this is important information that people need! Take care, Ed

This is great. Everything in a short video, easy to send and share with others! Most people just see an hour long video and don't want to sit through it. Thanks Dr Weir!😊

Need advice, I’m 63 & collecting SSDI. My wife will be turning 62 in 2025 & wants to apply for her SSi. She earned very little over her working life because of staying home with our 4 children. Would she be eligible to collect on 1/2 of my SSDI?

I was widowed in May 2018. When I turned 60 a few years later, I was able to apply for widow benefits on my husband‘s record. I also filed taxes as widow for three years. They are three years after the death of a spouse the year of, two years after the death. What happens when I turned 65 in one and a half years? Does my benefits change? Is there anything I need to do? Can I qualify for Medicare? I do receive a pension along with the Social Security amount. 🙏 thank you We were married well over 20 years

I can file for a spousal benefit now that I'm 62, if i file on my FRA at it's 1,600.00. My spouse on the other hand is getting his SS benefit at 66 his FRA and he gets $2,400, he is now 70 so he's been getting his benefit for 4 years now. If I apply now at 62 I'm gonna get 50% of his which is 1,200? Is that accurate?

What about garnishing ex spouse SSA for alimony and alimony arrears he hasn’t paid for years. He’s 63 and still working
@MyGovExpertАй бұрын
You have to have the court send the garnishment to SSA.

Passed away in 2018 but he did go onto Social Security for the last year and a half of his life. I had to wait because I wasn’t 60 before I could file on his behalf and I don’t believe I contacted Social Security. I believe they contacted me before I turned 60 and let me know these benefits were available to me and blah blah blah I had no clue what I should do. I guess my main question is am I gonna be cut off from spouse or widow benefits eventually? Is the government going to eliminated altogether eventually?

NO!! YOU WILL RECEIVE SURVIVORS BENEFITS 4-EVER. At 65 call Social Security, and MEDICARE office and apply for "Medicare Supplement F, G plan" and plus get "D" is prescription insurance ((NO LATER THAN 60 DAYS AFTER YOUR 65TH BIRTHDAY)) or you will be penalized. Do NOT APPLY for Medicare Advantage its a total **DISADVANTAGE** and no doctors will accept it anymore. Your answer is YES you will continue to receive survivors benefits.

I was married to my ex 15 years. He always paid the max into SS. He retired at 55, he just turned 65 this year and is going to file for SS. Because he hasn't worked in the past ten years how much will that affect me when I go to file?

Hi Dr Ed, I will be taking early SS (will be 62 on April 17, 2025) and I am married, and have a 12 year old daughter. I believe she and my wife would qualify for my SS as well, correct? My part would be 1650, im not sure how much they will qualify for. My question is, can my wife still work.part time as well? I know i can up to 22,300 per year, but how much would my wife qualify for? Thank you for your channel!

What’s the max PIA, exspouse born July 1947. Just wondering if it would be worth filing for SS based on his earnings. I’m looking for my SS Statement now to find my PIA but I started drawing SSDI at 64 in 2020.
