Ssanyong Rexton Ultimate - Stockton Sand Dunes Overnight Getaway 15-8-2019 to 16-8-2019

Took the new Ssanyong Rexton 2019 Ultimate out for a sand bash. For something that will go off road 5% of the time, very happy with how it went. It does need a lift kit though, not enough clearance and approach angle isn't great.

I can't imagine how many times the electronic locking diff was engaging & disengaging. Good set of all terrains & you'll have a good all round rig. Stock is 255/50/R20 I'd advise a 265/50/R20 so you don't throw the speedometer out. Dunlop Grandtrek AT5 Falken Wildpeak AT3W Yokohama Geolander G015 or BF Goodrich Trail-Terrain TA Best upgrade for an otherwise decent 4x4 system.

Hey mate, great vid! I’m looking at getting the Musso as the reviews in the last couple of years have been fantastic. I’d likely get it lifted with some AT’s, just wondering how this performs generally off-road for hill climbing and light rock crawling. The alternative would be a second hand triton (2013ish model) with around 60-70k kms.

How did you manage to recover from the front of the vehicle? What did you loop it over?

Because of the angle (top of a hill, vehicle infront pull down) was able to get it around the front crossmember without it touching the front bar.

Main crossmember, luckily the angle allowed for it, not a chance if you were towing on flat ground.

Is that the ultimate? How’s it going for you? Thinking of getting one for the mrs as a family car but just a bit unsure on after sales service, parts availability etc. Cool vid 👌🏻

Onthemark yeah that’s mine. Second ssanyong, wife has a korando, after sales is actually better than any other car I’ve owned. Only issue so far, headliner is a little noisy in summer. Australian sun expands/contracts the material used in the headliner and it makes a slight cracking sound over bumps. But I’m being pedantic, otherwise, it’s like a $100k car. Previously owned a Porsche Cayenne.
