I personally think that modded Melee is soooooooo much better than modded Project M

Anyone who thinks that mods are at play here just haven't played Melee competitively enough. Everything in this can be performed on a vanilla Gamecube, with a vanilla Melee disc(providing it's NTSC for things like the extended grapple) and vanilla controller. But while it CAN, as the video states, it's practically impossible due to human limitation. We can't react/input fast/accurately enough. The only things hacked are the textures. Also, yes, a mem card CAN alter how Melee plays despite the disc being read-only(ROM stands for read-only memory afterall). It does so with scripts that take the incoming data (from the disc or ROM if using emulator/Wii Homebrew) and alters it before it reaches the player. It's actually quite a feat to have done this because from what I recall, Gamecube reserves a specific data size for their saves. The real trick is getting the mem card file size to stay the same with all of these alterations at play. This is why no matter how much you progress, or don't for that matter, the file size on your mem card does not change. They are using these scripted mem cards at tournaments now to help "trim the fat". Recently, they have been testing the waters with controller hacks. These hacks don't create new tech skills but rather, make them easier to perform. I'm personally conflicted with that one because as Armada has pointed out, everyone has played the original game but not everyone has had a chance to play with these hacks, or worse, against someone who has. Don't be so quick to dismiss the beauty that is this game. There's a reason why after 16+ years this game is still one of the most entertaining to watch. Not only does the community find more and more glitches like the ones in this video, but they perfect them, making it a part of the meta. People were edge cancelling moves over a decade ago but they either did so accidentally through failed button input, or sat there for hours practicing and got it maybe 1/100 times. 20XX has the capability in training mode to save state on the fly which allows for players to repeat button inputs much more efficiently. It has helped create a new direction of perfection. All of the gods play 20XX at home, show up to tournaments playing on Vanilla Cubes/Wiis, vanilla controllers and NTSC Melee 1.02 (the standard in NA), and still take top spots at almost every major event. That should speak volumes for a)20XX's ability to provide a similar, if not better experience to the original and b)the validity of these players skills. Educate yoself!

All these kickass mods make me wonder about the Nintendo capacity of creation. Of course they created the game and players around the world couldn't do that, but once the game created, you can see that the imagination and the work of thousands players give a lot better results.
