SSBP Review #74 Black Raspberry Pub ~ Plymouth, Ma

My mission continues to find “my” top ten South Shore Bar Style pizza places! This is hard work, but someone has to do it! Follow along as I try as many of these places that I can. This is the 74 th .. place that I have tried! The journey is long and the road is hard. I will persevere 😂
I live in Abington which seems to be the Mecca for South Shore Bar Style pizza places, I have so many places to choose from within a 15 mile radius, all minutes from my house!
I order the same pizza (Mushrooms on 1/2 and Bacon on The Whole thing) each time, I do not ask for any modifications, I don’t ask for Laced or burnt edges, I don’t ask for extra cheese or sauce, I order it the way the establishment wants to make it.

Thanks for the video. I've driven by there, but never went in. One place that I've wanted to try is The Portside Tavern in Hyannis as well. They serve a ssbp there. I'm heading down there in a few weeks. Hope to try it.

They sold a pizzeria in Braintree ... name??. Their family-owned Butterfield's in Rockland. Sold last year. Butterfields was there 42 years..

Russ, coming up from Florida in June. Will be in the Hanover, Marshfield area to meet some old high school buddies. Where, in your opinion would be the best place in the area to get a bar pizza? So far the consensus is Poopsies. Thanks

So many places to try! My recommendation would be Black Raspberry in Plymouth, Venus 11 in Marshfield, Poopsies (but remember Poopsies is different from most) also another fun place to go to in the summer is Cabby Shack in Plymouth ~ have fun 🤩

So here's what I will say about the Black Razz... What they gain in good pizza, they lose in bad service and nickel and dime ing customers. I ordered a pizza with prosciutto and was charged double price (from menu price listed for that topping), a topping that was so insignificant, I couldn't hardly taste it. I also asked the waitress about any IPA's or amber ales they may feature, she didn't think they had any but said she would ask the bartender. When she eventually came back she said "he said Sam Adams is probably closest". A long wait to find out its a pub with no ales? I settled for a Sam and was lucky to have even gotten that. We never did get refills to our initial drink order as the waitress was rather scarce and rather than wait another half an hour to order another drink or confront the waitress about the clear over charge, we left a 20+% gratuity, paid the bill, and just skidaddled... haven't been back since. I don't think they will rate too high on your best SSBP bang for the buck video you are reportedly working on! Good pizza is half the battle, service and value count too, I'd give them an A for pizza and and an D- for the rest.

I find wherever you go right now that service is slow . Most places don't have enough help right now so you have to grin and bear it as best you can....

Better than Cabby Shack and Cabby shack is very good ~ where is Christo’s in Plymouth? I know of the one in Whitman
