2:15 why do you use a 1333 MHz? It suppossed the laptop runs at 1600MHz (DDR3 1600 MHz SDRAM, OnBoard Memory GB , 1x DIMM socket, 1 x DIMM socket for expansion up to 4 GB SDRAM ) taken from Asus website. Cheers.

Hi. How does it roll with 10gb RAM ?

Hi Budeanu, It handles very well, it is more than enough ram for her to work with on this particular machine. Coupled with the SSD, load times are greatly reduced, and the computer processes information and program executions and responds nearly instantly. 4 GB is considered now in 2017 as a pretty low amount of RAM, especially considering all of the multi-media applications that run in a browser when doing even simple things such as browsing youtube in multiple tabs or running more than 4 programs at once. I went with a single SODIMM upgrade instead of dual, because it offered a more cost effective solution than upgrading both. For older machines like this one, an upgrade like this one costs about 190$.

thanks for the video, and showing the type of ram you put in. i just pulled a trigger on an 8gb stick - hopefully it will work out just as well as it did for you! " I went with a single SODIMM upgrade instead of dual" - doesn't this machine have the 2nd memory piece soldered onto board? once again, thanks for the useful vid! another note - since you are removing the battery - should've thrown the "battery replacement" into the video title/description, since you're doing that as well, and this is what most people (like myself) want to replace first! and props on cleaning the fans.

Thanks! I did not have a new battery on hand to put into it although it usually can get approx 1.5 hours of use on the original battery still, which isnt all that bad, but she doesn't use it away from an outlet much, so the battery is typically being used like a "UPS" haha.... In this case I didn't go with a full complete disassembly to save time so i did not pull the motherboard completely free of the chassis. I am unsure whether the second memory module is soldered into the motherboard or if it has a second SODIMM slot on the backside (TOP). I know some notebook motherboards I have worked with such as my MSI GT60, has 4 SODIMM slots, 2 of which are on the opposite side. Glad that his was helpful to you!

Thanks for sharing this video, I am about to upgrade the memory as well. And yes, in my case the 2 Gb memory module is soldered to the motherboard. Cheers!
