You Sir, are truly an amazing individual. I bought my first computer in 1987 it was an Amiga 500 with every upgrade available. I spent a fortune on it. I got it for music production. I have built so many computers through the years and the part prices for what you get now are just unbelievable. I have researched building computers, part selection, and followed all of the system changes made along the way for over 30 years. In all that time no one has offered me more information on building computers than you. You show what parts are best and why, what configurations work best and why, and offer more factual information to help anyone build a great computer at a good price. You really do explain everything clearly and professionally and are a joy to watch because your passion for computers and helping others comes through in every video you make. Personally, I'm not a fan of the Intel 660p. I had been planning on buying this exact same SSD for my Computer Build, until I learned the difference between MLC, TLC, and QLC. As well as another thing not mentioned that much in here. DRAM. The Intel 660p does not have DRAM installed in the SSD, and you will be using up your own Computer RAM in exchange for this Trade-Off. Taking into account that it is QLC and the slowest form of SSD on the market, does not do this SSD any justice. An SSD not mentioned in this video, that I think should be included, is the HP EX920. It has excellent Performance and compares well against the Sabrent Rocket and Samsung, but without the hefty pricetag of the Samsung Brand. It is a TLC (not as good as MLC, but still much better than QLC), and has its own DRAM Storage. A brief comparison of a few recommended SSD's in this video (Prices are subject to change with time, but are at current moment in time): Intel 660p (1TB): 3D NAND QLC, $0.093/GB, No DRAM, $94.89 Sabrent Rocket (1TB): 3D NAND TLC, $0.110/GB, No DRAM, $109.99 (Has 24 GB SLC Cache) WD Black SN750 (1TB): 3D NAND TLC, $0.201/GB, 1,024 MB DRAM included, $201.39 Samsung 970 Evo Plus (1TB): V-NAND MLC, $0.227/GB, 1,024 MB DRAM Included, $227.49 vs HP EX920 (1TB): 3D NAND TLC, $0.140/GB, 1,024 MB DRAM Included, $111.99

bought a 2tb one for my laptop its the only thing in there, love it. came with 500gb, but that was way too quickly filled. the laptop has a 2.5 bay, but no cable and still have not been helped on getting the cable. Third asus laptop and dealing with support is a nightmare, probably going to be the last one I buy from them. Either way the mp510 has been awesome, honestly I just use it for gaming, but the 500gb that was in there already would slow down pretty hard on some of the downloads.

@Tech Deals Good video and information. It’s nice to have these videos to help inform customers and other curious humans of the battlefield of modern tech as it’s always advancing. However, please check your videos and dialog more thoroughly before uploading. I’d say these are at an 7/10 for quality and 9.5/10 for content. You have a handful of misspoken lines and names which cause the informed watcher to chuckle. I know these are small errors like saying “Samsung P1” or having the wrong definition of the AHCI acronym while the correct one was over-layed on screen. Or saying most modern games are 100TB instead of 100GB. Little things. This is just constructive criticism as I really enjoy your videos and want you to keep expanding your youtube reach. More videos like this need to exist.

The motherboard I'm looking at has three M.2 slots available. The bottom slot steals its bandwidth from one of the PCI-e slots. What would be the pros/cons of using the M.2 slot vs using an add-in card for the PCI-e? I doubt there would be any noticeable performance difference since it's the same lanes. But it looks like an add-in card might let me use more than one drive in that slot... so more storage in a single slot compared to the M.2. Is that right?

Speaking of the life of an SSD, I remember when I fixed up a Dell Precision m4300 laptop and installed a 160 gb Intel SSD X25-M and it actually still works fine today although looking up the specs, it said that its from Q3 of 2009. I have, I copied almost 6TB of data to my 8TB array, I've copied parts of my game testing library to several of these. Those are fairly rare events and they tend to slow down to various degrees on all the drives. It is worth noting that you need 2 drives to really see the speed, but the real world, the random is where it's at. IMHO

@@TechDeals I bought cheap Sandisk SSD once, got 2TB at first. But then I realised sequential write drops below 90MB/s after about 30GB write in. I got another one and did RAID1 (still slow). I have a Micron NVMe SSD. The speed drop below 200 MB/s after the cache is filled. However, I can fill my 860 EVO entirely without seeing much drop in speed(consistently over 300MB/s). Most of SSD speed test is test of the cache. The real speed of the TLC NAND is not obvious.
