In this case, I'm pretty sure they are also insane tabletop munchkins as well, so while in other games, the normal difficulty would mean "You can probably beat this so long as you're paying attention to the mechanics", in these Pathfinder games, it means "You need to play the game with a walkthrough open in your browser, look up a guide on meta character builds and respec all the party members, obsessively min-max your characters, and cheese every single mechanic you can, or you're screwed". As for the higher difficulties, that's the kind of crap that's made for masochists, because that's not challenge, it's virtual self-harm.

If you want to get the "Ultimate" skill you need to have the 3 correct minor skills that are required to open it, which are randomly given as choices if you have the correct pre-requisite minor skills that are randomly given as a choice if you have the correct pre-requisite major skills which are randomly given to you. Oh and by the way, the way RNG works in the game is static for the map so reloading the battle for a fresh level up choice won't help. (pretty sure that's how RNG works from the last time I played I could be corrected) Oh and one final note, if you are playing the main story campaign some of the characters start with minor skills that make learning the "Ultimate" impossible.

I think Heroes5 is really good. Skill wheel is actually fun once you find the 3rd party source for it. My favourite race is Dungeon because you can buff Blood Fury's initiative (or mass slow enemy) and attack 2-3 times before they can make a move,and then return to your place.

In my experience this game is mostly about staling the enemy melee and using ranged units for the win. And most of the spells used are either to clone your strongest ranged or to put a fucking ice pillar next to the enemy ranged. And thus the strongest factions are humans/demons. One of my favourite games till today.
