This is a very underrated performance from Justin Wong. He is constantly overthrown from an otherwise amazing streak by Daigo and in this match, he dropped three rounds in a row and came back with adjustments. Very good video.

True, he did get beat here, but he is still one of the best, if not the best SSF4 players. He consistently beats many top level players, and I would wager would probably beat Justin in a First to 10 match. Yes, players are getting better, but Daigo still has that raw skill where I've seen him beat players repeatedly.

I used to feel the same way as you... until I learned how to play. Mindlessly repeated moves (which is what I would define as spamming) does not work in this game because they get figured out and punished. When you see high level players throw a lot of fireballs, it's not spamming- they're doing it at times and ranges where it's safe. There's plenty of ways to punish badly thrown fireballs.

Sponsorship has been happening since the beginning of 1991 with SFII:WW, this isn't something new to the FGC. SF4 is like a 2nd coming if you will. However back during the height of SFII, a lot of the best players had sponsors whom would pay to have these people play.

He's not "playing for fun" he also wants to win badly. The fact is, players are simply getting BETTER. Why can't people grasp that? Every time Daigo loses, it's gotta be something else, it can't be that his opponent outplayed him. Some of you didn't even notice that Wong is doing footsies with Rufus, and Rufus footsies is pedestrian compared to Ryu's Top-Tier footsie games. Not to mention this match up is in favor of Ryu, in which Justin still came out on top. No more excuses please.

Ryu has the advantage in this fight, so Daigo would have the advantage here simply put for the fact Ryu's footsie and zoning can punish Rufus severely. The difference again is that Justin and Ricky play Rufus completely different from everyone in the world. They actually attempt and make Rufus look like he's got footsies, no other Rufus uses standing pokes or low sweep like those two do. Daigo also hasn't won in a long time, 1st to 10 would go either way between Daigo and Justin in AE 2012.
