the difference is the arcade culture dude, it's not literally that being Japanese makes you better, it's that they have a dense population of very hardcore players.

Arcades are still thriving over in Japan, they still make profit. We don't here in the US, and also, many of the best players are a trains ride away from competition against each other, that's simply not the case within the US. With easier accessibility to high level players absolutely gives them an advantage. The current US isn't like the early 90's when you could go to the local grocery store and play somebody solid in SF.

Yeah, sadly Seth Killian will be leaving Capcom this 22nd June (i think?). I'm actually wondering if he's going to even commentate this year's Evo? :(

Does anybody read the comments? That is the song in the beginning of the video. And second of all, they are referencing Justin Wong and how he is representing America, not who makes better video games.

Apparently Evil Geniuses wanted Jwong to win this tournament, so Momochi pretty much took a fall just because his sponsors told him that they wanted one of the American EG players to win. Not sure if this is true, but it's what Noel Brown told me at Vegas.
@TrueSephiros12 жыл бұрын
Except in Japan, most players live a trains ride away from one another. That's why it's easier to get the best players around and practice it up. NYC to Texas is already 1000+ miles, which is longer then mainland Japan (810). The current US isn't like the early 90's when the competitive state here was many times greater due to the prime of arcades and everyone playing the game. You could go to a local grocery store that had SF and find solid competition then.

Momochi was free here, but I still don't think US players are on par with Japanese players yet. There's a matter of consistency, and home field advantage.

Not quit correct, all America's, North, Center, and South America were named after the spanish discoverer "Americo Vespucio", the whole Continent was part of the Spanish kingdom but after Napoleon took over Europe, Spain was ruined and soon started to lost control of almost all their colonies in the continent, they lost North America to the French and the British, and almost half Soth America to the Portuguese.

Momochi and Daigo need to go back in the lab against Rufus...Not sure what Rufus has this version that's different other than the new cancel, but he seems OP to me....Not just saying that cause the Japanese lost, but just look at any Rufus match...the other guy needs to play near perfect or Rufus just gets a free blow up. Just too hard to fight him.

It's not magic. If your country has a scene, good net-infrastructure, access to arcades, then more people can/will play the game more often and get better. If there's only a handful of dudes interested, stuck on opposite coasts, how will they practice?

It sure doesn`t.What magically makes you better at this game is being a tier whore, ducking fireball spam in order to move in, using down+mk, etc.Daigo can only dream of being even half as good, offensive play and fast thinking is the real deal here from both players.We can almost get dizzy watching so fast fights, and both players did a lot of experiments and improvisations.This, my friends, is much more class than so-called top players like Daigo and Mago.
