For the question you answerd about the wild horses. It's also a bit of terrain. Our horses stay in the stable and don't roam around on different parts of ground like wild horses. The ground will naturally be taking care of the hoofs by plants that give nutrients to the hoofs they walk trough water. Hard and soft grounds. That how the hoofs don't grow to long and stay naturally healthy. Of course stuff like this indeed won't be solved and the horse will be picked by predators.

Some wild horses will also rub their hooves on rocks too if they feel like the hoof is getting to overgrown.

One of my favorite places in the world is those Palouse hills around the university and they show a different beauty in each season. I loved seeing Pinto Bean prancing happily with his refound spirit now that his mostly healed foot is allowing him his freedom to move again. This has been quite a story! It will be cases like these that will make your career so rewarding and I wish you all the very best in the coming years! I guess by now you might have started your own practice somewhere. To add to the comment/question about the wild horses, the terrain and amount of ground they cover also plays a role in maintenance. They might not be as great of feet as those who are maintained. The terrain wild horses cover is very rough and hard which chips the long horny wall of the foot, and they’re always traveling. Domestic horses are often in softer ground, some with shoes. And therefore don’t chip off as easily or regularly. As for malformations or issues such as keretomas there’s not a whole lot we can do for them, nature does have to play it’s role there. To bring them in is a lot of stress on the animal and without regular maintenance it’s a lot of unnecessary effort for something that might die anyways, unfortunately that is the case. Hope this helps! Or at least now there’s a little more knowledge! Have a great day!!!!

Don't know why I enjoy this so much. There is a genuine artistry to this. This profession gets over looked. Cows feed us lol, if the cow or horse is lame you will not get performance, and if its milk cows, that affects their production greatly, not to mention we don't want them in pain.....

Great job. I saw you work on him before. Uoure really knowledgeable with a lot of common and wisdom knowledge gained or taught by wise people. Wisdom is lived I know you can learn from others if they take the time to really listen. Sure would save the pain and heartache it took them to gain it. I've found as I've grown older wisdom is gained from trying situations, pain and heartache. Young people you really should listen. It could save you the pain down the word. This guy has gained wisdom from living it, or listened to the treasures learned by others. You go way beyond basic farrier teachings. It's like the difference between a dentist and an orthodontist. Great job. One of, if not the best I've seen. Best wishes and good luck to you , Pinto Bean and his vet and owners. Hoping for Blessings to come your way. God is absolutely good. I am so impressed with how observant you are with the horses, probably especially so in a case like this one, but I have also noticed that on at least one other video. And thats about how many other horses I have seen you shoe. It is lovely how much you care. And you may never read this, but you are very far from "just a horse shoer" (was that what you called it?). You are a very good one. You are learning, challanging yourself, caring about the horse. I am not easy to impress, but you did it in the first few minutes of talking, just with how humble, respectfull, calm and interested you were, with the knowledge and feel and instinct you shared with us viewers. However, from someone with a past of overworking themselfes: please never forget about yourself. Greetings from Germany, I hope you have a lovely week. And since in the other horses video (6 months old) I read about you going to vet school, I hope everything is going well. Good luck and take care. PS I am 26, I am supposed to be good with tech. I struggled so hard with my phones autocorrect. I swear, normally my english would bei better... I hope everything makes enough sense.
