Very good demonstration with scoring information. Explaining what is a stuttered event, and whether you count those as syllables would be a good addition if you do this again!

As an SLP this video makes me cringe. It is not appropriate to fake and act a stutter. The student should have spoken in her typical speaking voice with just a portion of the video explaining different dysfluencies to listen for. :-(

This was probably an assignment given and not a video these girls just made. It’s for educational purposes. I’ve had a professor who stutters himself assign me to voluntarily stutter for a week.

I'm not sure how else students will learn about stuttering or doing an Ax for stuttering. Due to the anxiety behaviours associated with stuttering, placements avoid putting SLP students onto stuttering placements to prevent further anxiety for clients. Many students are not fortunate enough to get a stuttering placement. It is just for educational purposes so they are prepared. It's really not serious.

Pseudo stuttering is a form of treatment for stuttering. How can you help treat or manage stuttering if clinicians feel uncomfortable pseudo stuttering or watching others do it. It’s an educational video example of a test, for stuttering. That’s like saying it’s inappropriate for students to say “t” for “k” on a video example of the Goldman Fristoe. Or in treatment, trying to teach a speech sound without ever using the sound. Lol I don’t see a problem with this. Mocking stuttering to be hurtful, yes. Avoiding using stuttering just because it’s stuttering? How’s that going to normalize anything.

Fake stuttering is taught in school. However, i dont like how the chicks are laughing. Not right
