Excellent update Luke however I still have a few suggestions for future updates. Firstly it would be amazing if one third party plugins could utilise both the compressor section and the rest of the UC1 not just one or the other as some plugins are more complex and require more knobs and buttons to assign. Secondly while it’s fantastic that on many (not all) you can assign meters and lights to third party plugins (shame the Amek 200 compression threshold can’t be assigned to compression lights like some of the other plugin alliance channel strips can) unfortunately adjusting the input gain doesn’t correspond with the lights showing input level in any of the third party plugins. This for me at least is absolutely essential for proper gain staging as I need to be able to adjust the input gain to see visually that I’m not going into the red lights on the input. This works beautifully with ssl native channelstrip such as the 4KB but not with any third party plugins sadly which is a deal breaker for me. A third suggestion would be to find a way where adding ssl link plugins doesn’t create an additional channel on 360. You should be able to have several link plugins without creating any more than the one channel. Also if you assign a third party plug-in to the new ssl bus comp link selecting that channel on the uf8 doesn’t take you to that bus comp on the uc1 even in 360 mode……ie. it doesn’t follow. Also it would be great to somehow allow the UC1 to control two plugins. In other words you could make your own custom channel strip perhaps using a pro q3 and pro c1 together for example. Last but not least it would be amazing if as soon as you tweak a third party plug-in using the uc1 the gui of the plug-in comes up on your monitor just while you are turning knobs and stays up until you don’t touch the controller for a second or two. I mean the actually gui itself and not a really small version of the gui. Something large and easy to see. Last but not least could the lovely UF1 screen be used to see the gui or third party plugins or at least something if not the actual gui just like you can see an eq curve for the ssl native channel strips?

Thank you so much for this amazing update! However, the 360 plug-in currently has a fatal problem. The great update has made it possible to follow the DAW track, but the volume meter on the UF8 and UF1 only shows the volume when the plug-in passes through, not after the track fader. This means that even if you set the fader to minimum, the volume meter will not be at minimum. Many people mix while checking the output volume of the track, not the input. The UF8 has a great color display, but it doesn't work well. In Cubase, you can get around this by inserting it into a post-fader slot, but other DAWs currently have no solution for this problem. Even if you can get the meter to work as expected in Cubase's post-fader slot, you will then have to apply SSL channel strips, EQ, etc. to the sound after the fader, and you will not be able to use the wonderful SSL plug-in as intended. Softube uses VST3 to display the track volume after the fader, so I think this is technically possible. Also, as others have pointed out, if you use multiple 360 plug-ins on one track, the UF8 and UF1 will create many faders for the same track as each plug-in is added. I really admire SSL for continually releasing exciting updates, but I hope they will prioritize this basic and fatal problem as a DAW mix controller and improve it in the next update. (I apologize if there are any incorrect expressions because I am using a translation. As hardware, I feel that SSL's controllers are truly amazing, so I made this comment with the hope that they will improve in the future.)

Thanks SSL🙏🏾, the whole UC and UF controller universe just keeps getting better! I've use many other controllers in the past and the SSL's are by far the best (at least for me with Logic Pro). There's still a few things I'd like to see in Logic Pro (that I think are in Cubase etc.) but hopefully we're getting there.

Wonderful update, super glad to map the Bus compressor as well! I would love to use to UC1 while tracking in UAD's LUNA. Since the 360 link plugin is not available in Luna's ARM mode, I can't use it while recording. Do you guys think there's a workaround for that? Would be awesome to have an even closer experience to having a SSL Console for live recordings.
@angermanagementstudios4 күн бұрын
Guys. In logic the channel strip STILL shows each instance of a plugin as “360 Link” so I can’t bloody see what the actual plugin is unless I actually open it. Seriously. You’ve got to sort this.

@jerrylmusic2 күн бұрын
This is really nice and if you would make the plugins via click applicable when we’re using just the 360 Link, so we can stay permanently in the mixer view? This way, we won’t need to switch back and forth between the DAW for plugins that don’t have the meter functionality. Best and thank you 🙏 Jerryl

My only issue with the 360 software is that each channel produces the same flavor. Hence, the plugin alliance channel strips are still the best because you can give each channel a different flavor (saturation) like a real analog desk. That's the only update I'm looking forward to.
@stupidusername384 күн бұрын
That's down to the plugin, not 360.

@@thaexception3406thanks. Since they didn’t mention in the video I was wondering about it. “Using the MIDI CC Layer with Cubase/Nuendo - timestamps now sent with MIDI CC data, meaning that you can write MIDI CC directly to MIDI parts without needing to record it to the automation lane.”

Love the update. But why does it still create a track for each plugin when using multiple 360 plugins on one track? This is annoying, there must be a better way without having to create extra tracks.

Disappointing. Still no channel colours for Logic Pro. Can’t be a AU issue, because Softube have cracked it in console. No LUFS on the meter. Still no easy DAW Fader Trim for automated faders.
