I don't understand continuing to play SK Terran after your zerg opponent is at Ultra/ling, why not switch to Mech then? or at least support with tanks?

Not enough time, You wouldn't have enough tanks out to make a difference. IMO in this game, defensive matrix on firebats instead of irradiate on luckers one at a time would have been a better bet when trying to storm bases... it's really tough to do though.

Outdated? It's still the thing in TvZ. There are some tanks occasionally and a few cattlebruisers, but the DNA is still marine/medic/vessel.

Spoiler comment. Once again: Change Dark Swarm from 'no damage from ranged if inside cloud' to 'high-ground/doodad miss-chance is in effect' and it won't be completely broken. Change Plague from 'reduce all HP to 1' to 'reduce enemy attack speed by 50%' and 'reduce enemy HP b 50%' - it would still be a powerful cast to reduce enemy offensive and defensive abilities, it won't be broken. Consume: Reduce energy gain per HP consumed by 50%. So long as something like this is not done Defilers will remain the single most broken units in Starcraft history.

plague deals total 295 damage to units or buildings and consume gains 50 energy no matter what zerg units eaten.

@@sanaebeast4485 So, eating lings, is 25 HP converted to 50 energy. Ergo, absurd. Nerf that to 25 energy. 295 damage is enough to melt any unit or building, with what exceptions? Reduce that to the suggested effects, so a CASTER can't melt enemy buildings.

@@tereninsecundus6084 zergling is 35 hp instead 25 hp, otherwise several zealots are easy to counter zerg in the early game. Nerfing 50 energy to 25 energy using consume is a good idea. But the problem is that BW is a game that hardly ever gets patches to balance races. The latest patch to balance races is increasing the cost of reaver's shots from 8 to 15 minerals when BW RM released. Also flash said most korean players don't like patches to balance BW.

Mech is your Terran balance. Simple. Don't go SK Terran if you can't throttle the Zerg early.

@@cyberlemmingasaservice7740 No, apologist, I point this out every game I see the same thing: Zerg Defilers melt Terran buildings, infantry, tanks, aircraft. Defilers melt all Protoss ground and air units and belt their buildings. They also hard-counter tanks as it's one thing to Zealot bomb a siege tank or ling-bomb them, it's another to drop dark swarm to neutralize the DPS so your melee units get on top of them while they re-deploy. Static defenses? Swarm over them so your lings are invincible or melt them with plague. If somehow your standard is that Defiler is NOT OP 'just change your whole play-style bruh, Defiler erase the one you are using bruh' - sure, anyone can do that on a whim right, always have the time to do so too, and defilers totally don't work on tanks and air too... oh.

Tank lines with Goliath and SV support are almost unbeatable by Zerg, even if dark swarm is here. "Defilers melt all Protoss blablabla" -> ever heard of Psionic Storm, Maelstrom, corsairs/dt and reavers? See, the thing is you're not really arguing. You're expressing your deep pain that you got destroyed many times by Zerg players who played better than you, and you take it out on the whole race balance, because of course you couldn't be the problem.
