for reference, 5 wraiths have the same DPS as a SINGLE dark templar. Would you hesitate to move out 15 hydras against 1 dark templar?

Something else of note as to why Carriers are bad against Zerg is that Defilers completely disable them. Dark Swarm makes interceptor attacks miss, sure, but Plague makes interceptors fly back into the Carrier and stay there for the duration of the spell. This, in addition to Scourge, means Carriers can only ever be used as an off-balance mid-game timing. Hydralisks often are a serviceable counter to them in those mid-game timings and Zergs love to mass them anyways.

Usually if the Protoss is able to get away with building a fleet of carriers in the first place, they've already won the game and are just hitting a 'win more' button.

Disruption Web is pretty strong and underutilized. Seems it only isn't used because no one wants to use it. It's not as if it's some wild investment if you've already gone mass corsair

@@MundaneDave Disruption Web IS a fairly large investment. It is 300/200 for the Fleet Beacon, then an additional 200/200 for the research. It is almost always going to be better to have additional High Templar with that gas, and Zealots or Dragoons with the minerals. Storm is a better area denial spell by way of killing the hydralisks instead of turning them off. Lower level games aren't quite as tight on resources, so you CAN drop enough to research Disruption Web, but odds are those lower level players won't have the control needed to maneuver their army, cast storm AND cast the Web.

@@SquallLionhart409 the price of 4 goons is too much? It's a commentary on the first game and an alternative to Carriers. No templar tech, just assuming Corsair/Reaver, and I'm not talking about some Web tech rush. Web was way more of a thing before Bisu set the PvZ meta.

1:36:25: Weird situation at this point: If Protoss wants to tie with Zerg for overall first place, then P must get first place this week and Z last place. That requires exactly the following circumstances: Best *has* to lose here, then Speed *has* to beat Jaedong, and then Snow *has* to beat Speed. In particular, if Best wins, then that's bad for Protoss (weird). And then if Speed reaches a winning position against Jaedong, he could throw the match to ensure Protoss can't tie Zerg (again, weird).

Anyone else sick and tired of imbal hydra busts? Yeah Gaemmo vs Best was exciting but Gaemo is shit tier zerg and Best is an S tier protoss, and best had to scrape through with some miracle DTs and god like micro to survive.

best didn't pull off some brilliant comeback - ggaemo just lost because he didnt bring enough overlords or keep overlords in each of his base. literally 0 excuse for that considering best didnt have ANY corsairs. ggaemo fked up, best isnt that good.
