Love your dog runnning in the background at the 12 second mark. Typical black lab being a nutty black lab! 😊

First thing I installed after the automatic door was a motion sensor camera so I can check on them from indoors. One night while we were on vacation I noticed a family of raccoons approaching the coop on a night where two of the hens got locked out of the coop (but were still within their fenced in area). Texted my neighbor at 11 pm and he ran over and chased off the raccoon family and saved the day! LOL

Now you need CCTV to check on them from your house.

GOod looking door. I may have to try one.

I only wish they have WiFi capabilities so you can control it manually. Where we live in the north some days the weather can extremely cold and it just doesn’t make sense to have the door opened up.

Got one a few months ago. the track keeps clogging. either going to have to modify it or try something else

I figured that would be an issue. If his guillotine door (G-door) was sticking, zero percent chance of keeping that tiny plastic slit clear. Would have been smarter (and cheaper) to improve the G-door and automate with something. There's a YTube video with a WiFi / Bluetooth (smart home compatible) water valve opener that you can attach a dowel "arm" to that will open and close those G-doors nicely. I've ordered one to try myself ($32).

Howdy Todd! I like the design of this one. Great video. Do you think the chickens will mess with the cord in the coop? Guess if they were going to they would have by now... lol. Well done and thanks for sharing 🤠

Good job. All our chickens live in the trees, im not sure why they go into thier homes there. Too cold maybe? Safer and natural up the trees so fine by me :)

No racoons, owls, or opossums near you? My small place is CRAWLING with all three (plus redtail hawks for daytime in-tree peril).

Is this door mouse proof? I have so much trouble with mice getting around my horizontally sliding popholes.

I have this door. The chickens get woodchips stuck in the rail at least once a week. Other than that its alright.

We have debris almost everyday get stuck in the track and the doors refuse to close. Everyday we have to clean the track out so it will close at night 🤦🏼♂️

Make sure there’s space under the bottom door track and it will just fall through. I have not had that issue at all with mine the way it is installed

I have this door. Its functionality with opening and closing based on the sun is a grate idea. But… having the doors closed sideways instead of up and down like a garage door means that there is a track at the bottom that the doors run on. This track gets clogged every night from the chickens tracking in debris and you have to go out with a screwdriver to clean it out every night. NOT FUN! I’am getting rid of this door.
@SSLFamilyDad6 ай бұрын
You need to leave a gap under the door frame so that things just fall through. I have had this for months with not one clog

We have this door and it works pretty well. Our track does get clogged at times, but it other than that, I like it. We are in Wisconsin, so have very cold winters. Last January we had -20 temps. The door did not work very well through that. So that’s an issue, but otherwise it’s a good door.
