I am opening three retail blaster boxes of 2020-21 Panini Illusions Basketball for our next sports card pack opening/product review! These boxes have an SRP of $20 but resell for ~$30-35. Every box contains 6 6-card packs. Look for emerald and ruby parallels which are exclusive to the retail blasters. These boxes come with chances at pulling rare SSP Starlight parallels (retail exclusive), inserts on acetate stock, emerald parallels (autos #/25), exclusive ruby parallels (#/125), autos from two different sets (Rookie signs & Trophy Collection Signatures), autos/rookies of LaMelo Ball, Anthony Edwards, Tyrese Haliburton, Cole Anthony, & Tyrese Maxey, and more! Compared to other products, this is a low-end set. This product also has hobby and other retail formats. Found a couple boxes at Target so decided to test my luck. Pulled a nice Teal Wiseman out of /75 but every packs 2nd to last card was severally damaged, corner was completely destroyed. Never seen this in blasters before and curious if anyone else has had this experience.

bought a mega from target- annndd hit a starlight!! My first ever SSP - AND it was Tyrese Haliburton!!! LOVE the card. The mega also had a numbered Anthony Davis! I was very happy with the box- Wasn't melo or ant but Haliburton has been BALLING lately. If sac trades Fox , hailiburton going to EXPLODE

Honestly the quality control of illusions this year was 1000x better then optic from the product I got at least LOL Enjoyed ripping these too, not much value but you get a ton of different inserts. My fav was the acetates!

Straight up, the easiest way to tell is the foil on the name/number.. it’s silver on parallels, on the base it’s bronze/gold. I have an emerald Ja from last year that I only noticed because I thought it was a misprint on the foil color lol

You can tell the difference of the parallels by the color of the foil changing from Gold in the base to more of a chrome/silver look.

My son and I got 3 megas at Walmart. We opened 2 and didn’t love the product so for Christmas we decided to give the third to one of his good friends who is new to the hobby. I bought an illusions mega the other day and most of the base cards had massive corner damage and even creases right through the cards as if they had been bent in half. Box had no damage so it was likely from the factory. Very disappointing because I’m a fan of the set but don’t trust buying retail. Anyone else have this issue?

Look at the Foil color of the name plate. The parallel color is different than the base. That’s the easiest way to tell.
