In 2003, a year before my mother died at age 78, I asked her if the Novus Ordo was the reason she had stopped going to Mass. She said, "There's nothing new here, the Lutheran service has been around for centuries". I didn't get what she meant & I didn't press her about it as her health was failing. Then, in 2008 I worked as PT Secretary for one of our town's biggest Lutheran Churches. (I must have gotten the impression somewhere that Catholics could do that then...heck their music director belonged to the same Parrish as me) Although I never attended any Lutheran service there or anywhere else, the music director was presenting her original organ compositions; which this church possessed THE PREMIER 3 STORIES HIGH ORGAN. I went to that particular Sunday church service to hear her performance. A few days after & just before a staff meeting I mentioned how surprised I was by the many similarities the Lutheran Service was to the Catholic Mass. I said something to the effect, "Your church service is really close to what us Catholics have." The Senior Pastor answered, "No you guys have a service more like ours." Well that flew over my head without an understanding what he meant. It's been only a few months now since I got the full blast of his meaning AND my mother's meaning. I was shaken too my core. SSPX podcasts are helping me out of my confusion. I'm 71 and I still remember Mom helping us older kids with our Latin & being with her when she attended her last Mass in Latin. The downfall of most Catholic Families in our neighborhood & town was swift.

@bobtosi9346 No the Lutheran pastor was right. The novus order copied the protestant liturgy and abandoned The CATHOLIC MASS. The Traditional Latin Mass

The most honoring worship is attending holy mass, offering oneself together with the holy sacrifice and becoming ever more like Jesus through holy communion. But to worship the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is never bad in itself. I think that would be heretic too.

But if your ignoring or rejecting Gods gift to humanity, as he sent us his only son to suffer for atonement for our sins and the God of the OT has no sacrifice of atonement because Jesus Christ is the fulfilment of the OT. So yes it's faulty to simply follow the OT interpretation of God and ignore Jesus Christ. We pray for the conversion of sinners, including those who deny Christ as the son of God.

The ecumenical notion that those religions of Abraham are in some way saved and ok, but that's false and in grave error.

I believe in a very literal interpretation of extra Ecclesiam Nulla Salus, where all those outside the visible church (baptism of explicit desire ok but implicit not) cannot be saved. What is the sspx position on this and can you provide documentation sources from authorities in the church if you disagree or even if you agree? I struggle with this very much.

Can someone please explain the argument starting at 13:00 until 14:11? Regarding child Jesus being able to understand Hebrew scripture. What is the absurdity?

Hebrew was written using only consonants, meaning all written texts were open to many possible pronunciations (i.e. interpretations as to the word meant, as opposed to possible words meant). This is analogous (even if not exactly equivalent) to me expecting you to be able to understand the specific words I'm saying below: "Hv y vr rd th bk f nch? r gnss? f nt, wld y vr cnsdr dng s?" Imagine Jesus confidently reading through pages of text of this kind - it proves He was not only literate (i.e. recognized letters, which, according to His own enemies, He was not taught in), but also aware of specific, orthodox, Jewish traditional readings.

This is about the story that Luke added to Mark, to push his theology that Jesus was special from the very beginning. Don't forget however, that while trying to achieve that, he also presented parents of Jezus, his mother Mary as his father Joseph, as complete incompetent. They have lost Jesus for 3 days! (Logicaly, it simply didn’t happened, but "3" days were important for Luke to use, to foreshadow the resurrection in "3" days. Also in the oldest manuscripts Mary admits, that Joseph was Jesus's father. Latter scribes tried to correct this (when Luke contradicts himself) and changed "father" to Joseph. But it is good enough story to be used (when sufficiently redacted) by today's apologists.

I think, also, that the spoken language was Aramaic, not Hebrew, so your average twelve-year-old would hardly be fluent in an ancient language that only the Rabbis studied. Similar today of a child reading from the Vulgate Bible and then giving a homily on it.

You don't know what office or position God will call you to, unless you attend church. Lean not to your own carnal assessments and understanding.
