I had 4.5 years of gap after graduation. Now working as a full stack developer in a big MNC. I completed my engineering in June 2016 prepared for govt exam till 2020 but could not clear any. Then from 2020 I learned javascript for 6 months then joined a small start up in May 2021 at a salary of 10k per month. Worked in this startup for around 1 year and then in April 2022 I switched to a big MNC as a NodeJs developer at a package of 7 lpa. Currently working in this MNC as a full stack developer node+angular. You can also begin your career in IT industry even after career gap but you have to start your career from a small startup, after gaining 1 year experience gap will not matter much

And with DSA your pay will be higher..mine was only 20k. And development is also important because startups would not train you much and will expect you to start working from 1st week

Suppose you have lot of gaps in your education like 7-8 years. And yoi did a course on something, build your skill sets and now you're prepared enough to give interviews and do a job. But company always prefer young and recent passed out candidates. Some also have criteria like 70-80 % in academics, etc. In that situation how would a candidate expect companies to give an opportunities to these candidates. Only few calls come for these candidates and they offer so low salary and also talk rudely like they're doing favour on us. Yes i have heard many stories how people get into jobs even after lot of failures and gaps but largely i see very few stories like these. Gap years is just a curse for a candidate and below 60-70% academics puts a cherry on top of that. Most of them reject giving petty excuses and also doesn't show much interest while interviewing. They just call for the name sake and at the end they reject.
