Thanks for the comment and glad it helps. Hopefully the water in the oil isn't a sign of something like a head gasket leak or pump seal.

I just picked up the K6 250 EFI model. Hows your motor feel? First real ride today after setting up everything, has massive low rpm power off idle but doesnt seem to have much mid to upper rpm, and sounds lean with pops/backfire occasionally. Your's pull hard mid to upper rpm?? I assumed this DOHC would, i think i got a clogged injector or fuel filter from the old test gas

Always good to actually check torque specs, those 8mm bolts , I doubt are 15 ftlbs, more like 5 ft lbs
@nautiseaman98334 жыл бұрын
Yes indeed. If i actually had an SSR shop manual to refer to I would have. In hindsight, i should've referred to some of the other shop manuals i had on the shelves for similar bolts. I have a couple Honda CRF manuals that list torque values for oil filter/drain bolts at 12-16 ft lbs and the 6mm flange bolts (8mm heads) at 9 ft lbs.

hate to ask this dumb question but...... I have an EGL A17 450 with very similar engine. I have the same two screen filters under the black bolts on the sides of the engine and the bigger one also, just like what you have. There is also what appears to be the main drain plug at the bottom of the bike. Is this correct? If I only remove the three on the sides of the bike, I can see that all the oil comes out. Did you remove the very bottom (on the underside of the engine case)? or did you simple remove the three and clean and refill? Thanks
@nautiseaman98333 жыл бұрын
Yes, I warmed up the engine first then removed the bottom plug and removed the oil fill cap to vent. Once it was empty I started filming.
@MinecraftBuilder3813 жыл бұрын
@@nautiseaman9833 I just watched the video again and saw that you pointed out the main drain plug at the beginning of the vid. Thanks for the quick response!!! I have an EGL A17 450, very similar to the SSR I think, but not too much out there on this bike. Its very good bike in my opinion so far. I also ride a KTM200 2 stroke and this bike rips very similar. Hope you are enjoying your bike. Keep the rubber side down!

Nice video, helpful. Thanks! You mentioned you found the service manual, where did you find it? Also, noticed the rear suspension linkages are exposed, the skid plate doesn't reach that far back, and I could probably use one from a Japanese similar frame. Would you know if this frame is same or similar to an old CRF250 ?
@nautiseaman98334 жыл бұрын
It's not a service manual per se but an owner's manual that covers general bike operation and light maintenance. A PDF is available on SSR's website as well as a PDF for oil changes. However, the oil change is on a different bike with a different main oil filter and cover but is still a zongshen NC250 engine. Most servicing is done by trial and error and folks like us sharing the experience. I'm going to do a fork service vid shawtly as well as post some single track riding I've done. Regarding a skid plate, i have an older crf250r to compare and the SSR frame is a lot larger due to the size of the zongshen engine. The bottom end is larger than a crf450r's so the bottom cradle is lower and longer as well as the down tube. Looks like the only real solution right now is to fab one from aluminum or buy a sheet of HDPE and make a cardboard template then heat and bend it to the frame.

What year shrouds for the CR did you buy to fit for graphics
@nautiseaman98334 жыл бұрын
I used the '14-'17 crf250r ('13-'16 450r) radiator shrouds from Acerbis and it seems like SSR has the '18+. The rest of the bike is '14-'17 plug and play plastics but since the SR300S was originally designed for dual exhausts i also used the FMF/UFO Plast single exhaust left side panel. UFO Plast also sells the side panels together for single exhaust conversion. www.ebay.com/itm/333787169645

Great video, Do you have a link to a website to get oem/performance parts for ssr bikes?
@nautiseaman98333 жыл бұрын
As far as performance parts go, SSR has a Pro Circuit pipe they offer though dealerships and MXRevival has the Lectron carb. For "OEM" engine and some other parts, go through SSR dealer or search eBay and Amazon for Zongshen nc250 or 300. Plenty of parts for maintenance and rebuilds when needed. GPX Moto also uses the NC250/300 so you can get engine wear items through them as well. Chassis and body are completely different though. Best thing to do is hop on Thumpertalk and go to the Chinese bike category. There you'll find everything related to the NC engine and the SR series bikes.

My question is the forks...what is available for seals and fork service? Springs too?
@nautiseaman98333 жыл бұрын
They are similar to Showa found on the 2017 generation Honda CRFs. For springs you would have to measure diameter and length then refer to guys at Racetech for a matching size with the spring rate you desire. Seals you'd have to pop them out and measure the old ones. Unfortunately, there isn't much documentation regarding wear parts. When you find the correct sizes and any other findings, pay them in here. I'm compiling a list of things that will hopefully help others in the future.

@nautiseaman98334 жыл бұрын
2016 CRF250R Attack Graphics from RMATVMC. Just make sure to get the 2014-2016 radiator shrouds as well. The graphics won't fit the SSR shrouds. However, I bet you can order the shroud graphics for 2017-2019 separately and get the rest for the 14-16.
