I’ve been to a public school and a private school. At the public school, we got fed lunch that was pretty good but definitely straight from a box . At private school, they gave us freshly cooked breakfast lunch and early dinner, along with 2 snack times and dessert :D

For public schools, it depends on who their food supplier is. Like, my old school had a literal buffet of delicious shit, but that was because they were smaller and had to pay for less food, so they could get a more expensive supplier. My new school is really big and they have to feed a lot of kids, so we get the High schools leftovers, and the high school almost always gets stale grilled cheese or chicken patties that taste like cardboard from their supplier
