Yeah, That's happened on Gridman too. SSSS. series was written by Dorama/Tokusatsu writer so maybe that's influence it. Also if you learn Japanese, SSSS series showing more natural Tokyo accent compared with other anime.😊

It is pretty perfect how they nailed that. Most of the interactions with Kaneishi are pretty subtle. That one moment really stood out. And it did help trigger part of Yume's character arc. Having seen how things were for her sister and realizing the potential risks if she got any further involved with Yomogi. Nicely done and real.

I honestly don’t like this observation style of story telling. In the right circumstances, it can be really great and I’ve seen shows do this well too. But To be honest, I wished they made it more obvious to the viewers. Like maybe give yomogi a short basketball section, instead of a small picture of him playing basketball. It’s one of my two complaints of this anime, the other being it’s not long enough :P

It's relatively harmless. Just someone with feelings that was subtly trying to get closer without much success and then made little steps to try and block Yume out. Nothing that really crossed the line. And I don't think she's really a bad person either. Nicely written in that sense. Didn't have to make her a full blown antagonist or oversell her jealousy.

Because of Kaneish's act (girls can see subtle things like that), Yume got upset at Yomogi and rejected his help to investigate her sis' death (resolved by the next episode). She was shutting people out already and made it worse. You could say that the trust Yomogi built earlier was lost and to start again.

Not really a social slang, not that I've ever heard of. Basically she is nudging her because she understands that with the flow of everything going on, Yomogi will very likely get with Yume and Kaneishi doesn't really have a chance. I mean once you're entire friend group ships you, you are pretty much a couple at that point. She is nudging her with her elbow out of pity, or a pity elbow.

so this is why i felt the Gridman series was kinda socially awkward, like how Rikka didn't answer mc's call, or how Hibiki was being a creep following his crush on her group date, i thought the series is something that only Gridman fandom would enjoy (u know with all reference) so they dont even bother about things like character development or the interaction between them, to me the interaction was kinda weird and cringe, but i forgot that they're trying to be relatable to the teenage audience, and when i really think about it, i was kinda weird and cringe when i was at that age.
