idk why but my starts are consistently worse than jr's, but i seemingly make up for the missed time through the rest of the track?

Once again, you cheated, and more than once this time! You’re not supposed to press the reset button at all if doing so gives you an advantage. In the real SSX community, this would be considered cheating and an illegitimate time.

Feel free to watch any record time labeled "Clean" for runs without warps. This game in particular has no such category since it's always been more popular to use the select mechanic to get ahead than it is to avoid doing so. If you like, you can watch my Snowdream and Mesablanca records for a taste of what it's like to have a run optimized without select - there's no select trick that saves time in those tracks, purely by chance.
