It was just passionate developers not afraid to take risks and everyone just wanted to make cool games. The industry now days is full of corporate losers milking other losers with micro transactions. Games stay the same, they don't take risks. The devs are not passionate because they aren't even allowed to make things they way they want to, they deliver content on a schedule even if the quality isn't there, it's delivered because losers will buy it anyway. There was a vibrancy in the 00s decade you can feel in everything from back then. It's in the fashion, the music, the movies, the games. It was a creatively booming decade full of passion and happy people.

You don't but you can emulate Gamecube and PS2 on a decent PC and crank up the res and turn on antialiasing x4. It looks very much like this. Oddly, this particular game looks and performs better for the gamecube on Dolphin. Just set it as high as your PC can handle. It's a good experience.
