It has been a while since I was there, so nice to go on a virtual tour. And just a small addition regarding the Mystic Lamb. The Just Judges panel was stolen in 1934, together with John the Baptist. The last panel was returned by the thief but the Just Judges are still missing. Some BW pictures existed and a renaissance copy by Michael Cocxie, so a new panel was painted to replace it. It is almost an exact copy, but not quite. The theft is a mind-boggling mystery, lots of conspiracies surrounding it, so up to this day they keep digging for it. Someone even suggested it ended up in a garbage can at one point, ha ha.

St. Bavo's is a magnificent Cathedral, Alessa and Brett. Both in stunning architecture and art! You relay it's rich history so well Alessa. So many pieces of art we're stolen by the Nazi's. While the "Monuments Men" did a magnificent job of finding many, so many remain lost today. A Raphael was discovered in the New England area of the US around 20 years ago in a local church. The parishioners had decided they didn't like it and it was sent to the basement for storage. Some years later when they were holding a rummage sale for church renovations one of the volunteers putting it together discovered it. Thought it looked old and original, took a photo and texted it to a friend who was an art expert with Sotheby's in New York. He received a text back within minutes and told not to move. They were on their way! Turns out that it was a known missing piece and the rummage sale for renovations became irrelevant! (it seems unusual that the 3 greatest Masters of the Italian Renaissance all knew each other and all had pieces stolen by the Nazis, some which still remain missing today) Loved this beautiful tour. Thanks so much for bringing us along.

Hi Alessa and Brett! I really enjoyed your tour of the impressive St. Bravo's Cathedral, Ghent. Your narration was very interesting to listen to, as always. I learnt a lot! The decor was stunning and the stained glass spectacular. Glad to hear that most of the plundered treasures were recovered. How intriguing that one piece is still missing. I wonder if it will ever be found? Thank you very much for showing us around. Have a great weekend! ❤
