I have read one book on this hopital and I have to say by listening to this video I have just learned 2 more. Very informative and well presented youtube video. Thank you.

Really interesting to hear the background here. Amazing to hear the doctor was knighted and that occupational therapy has links back to our Borough. Also, the move to more humane practice. I hadn't realised the unit was still operational

I was admitted in 1981. The nurses and doctors were brilliant. Another spell in another hospital 20 years later, Terrible experience.

The Garden of Rest’s raison d'être is that some of the bodies inhumed in the hospitals burial grounds, which were exhumed during the building of one of the new units were reburied there and the garden created to remember all those patients that died during their stay. There is an exilent Wikipedia article about: St Bernard's Hospital, Hanwell. Former St Bernard’s hospital librarian Paul Lang is a font of information when it comes to the history of this hospital. Maybe you could persuade him to do a follow up video.
