ln 1973 l was asked which Saint l was going to take for my confirmation, St. Christopher l replied, then l was rebuked and told he is no longer regarded as a Saint in the Catholic Church as his story is only a fable for children, this shook me inside, but deep down inside l felt they had to be wrong, so with encouragement from my parents l held on dearly to St. Christopher for my confirmation name. l firmly believe he has saved me many,many times in more ways than l really know in my life thus far. l thank God and His Blessed Mother for St. Christopher in my life.

It has to do with the tradition that he was a dog face or cynocephali. When Saint Christopher received the waters of baptism his face turned into that of a human beings. I think it's really meant to be symbolic of the soul undergoing a change
