I bought a St.Croix Triumph 7 ft spinning medium with fast tip. I have bass fished all my life - 60 years. Mine lasted about 2 hours and snapped on a 2 pound Drum. Only the 3rd fish on that rod. St.Croix honored the warranty and I upgraded to their Premier rod, same specs. Good on you St. Croix!! I already have a Premier and have had zero issues with it, so got another. I think Triumph is a carbon blank and Premier is graphite. Also heard graphite is much stronger.

I just picked up this 7' Medium/Fast rod yesterday. I'm going to pair it up with Penn Battle III DX 4000 (on the way). It felt really good in my hands at the store and your video confirmed I made the right purchase. Although 50+, I'm new to fishing and this is my first rod ever. Appreciate anglers like you putting out informative contents for us newbies.

Medium is too small for inshore. Go with MH 7’6 paired with 4000 reel

whats the length of your rod? medium\heavy? and with that rod brand does it work good with corpus Christi, texas saltwater ?
