Part One of a two part Video of my Hike and camps on the St Cuthbert's Way. I wasn't able to complete the whole route as I had not enough time and the weather seemed to be always against me.
Music By Ben Morton and Sinclair Smith
Enjoy!

Hi Derek. Aye it just got worse and I was wet through. I did it though and enjoyed it. Those joggers were just tanking it up those hills! I was Fu***d!! Yes Ben has the ideas and I just string along as it were. Starting to make a good wee team in the music side of things. Cheers for looking in Derek all the best my friend.

Hi Gill We can do this again at some point no problem. The weather as you know can spoil things but as you know it takes a lot to stop us! Loads of places to camp so when its convenient for us both lets get out there. Thanks for the comment Gill you know I appreciate it.

Thanks for the shoutout my friend, always a pleasure. I see what you mean about the weather you had man lol!. But what a great treck, I would have joined you in a heartbeat if only I lived nearer ......Give it another 25 years and then I can retire up there and we'll be trecking together with our zimmer frames lol!!..but till then I'm happy admiring what you show us with your camera, keen eye and excellent taste in music. Looking forward to part 2

No probs Ben It has to be done as your helping create some inspiring music. This trip can be done again and fully however in 25 years time I doubt I'll be alive lol! I do have an idea though! Hire a couple of pack horses! Could be interesting? Thanks for the encouraging comments my friend. Hope you get out soon.

Shame about the rain at the start Sinclair, But you didnae give up and made a great vid big man! What a view behind you at 10:00 mate, And you are right about they mad runners, Seen lots of them on my trips and one minute i think they are nuts, Then the next i wish i was as superfit as them. Also loved the time lapses an the wee rainbow. Thanks Sinclair, peter.

Hi Peter. Naw never gave up! I just ran out of time to do the whole trip to the Border but got a couple of nights. That view at 10.00 was the Cheviots where I met Mick and Gill. Man Its wild up there! The Borders have their own beauty and wildness, something we pass by for the Highlands and forget whats just down the road. Aye super fit by the way so she was lol! Cheers Peter I always appreciate your comments.

Great start with the brass band.....when i hear a brass band i always think of Benny Hill's brass band, some of the women in it were outstanding and had a lovely dress sense lol. That look's a good hike , a mix of outdoors and history is always a good watch.I can't wait to get down there on the 17th , looks good , there's other things in the great outdoors other than mountains. I hope to get to Glen Kinglass on sunday for a solo 2 nighter hope it doesn't rain to much or it rains at night i quite like feeling dry and smug in my tent.Fitness yeah i having been doing the stairs for about 10 days and i feel worse... you need to stick at it that's the pain/bore but it pays dividends when your out, i'll see you in part 2 unless you get lost lol !!!

Aye the Brass Band was a surprise. Benny Hill! man! Going back now Eddie. Its a great hike down there and so many to choose from. Beautiful part of the country just waiting to be explored. Prt 2 is in the Cheviots at the end, Micks country, I meet up with him and Gill on the Border. What a landscape and atmosphere we had. Good luck at Kinglass my friend, the weather seems more settled lately but you know what you are doing and what to expect. Have a good one Eddie and don't do a pathfinder lol! Catch you later. Cheers!

Hi Sinclair. Great video....loved it. The start was unexpected what with a return journey on the bus. I really enjoy just sitting on the bus and letting the world go by on my way to an LD hike. Cuthbert certainly had a life.....a fascinating trail especially when the trail runners are out. Oh the revelations. Good the sun came out...really enjoyable video. ATB Mark.

Excellent Sinclair and what a mix of weather my friend in a beautiful part of our land, those shots of the brooding rain clouds where fab. Bowden kirk cemetery reminded me a little of your very own Greyfriars with its skull grave ? Lol I went in Greyfriars Kirkyard (Febuary 2013) on a dark night taking photos alone, the misses stayed in Greyfriars Booby waiting for me as she bricked it pal. But I did get a great blue orb by the Covenanters Prison. Great edited video as always buddy and looking forward to part two. Cheers Sinclair.:)

Hi Terry good to hear from you. I nicked those brooding cloud shots from you lol! You were at Greyfriars! Man I would have bricked it too. Were you aware that that place at night is full of, well lets just say chaps of a baser sort sharing chemical fluids! Need to see your photos! Cheers for the support Terry from you its much appreciated.

I shall put them on my Google plus page for you Sinclair for you to have a nosey mate. It Was Feb 2013 Sinclair not November OMG my brain forgets these days lol. Cheers buddy. Nice video Sinclair, The heavy rain seems to like you a lot. Lol I cant believe that seat has been there for thst length of time. Just goes to show what a good area you were in when they young ones haven't wrecked it. My laptop is broken just now, so I had to watch your video on my phone. I'll probaby not have any new video's up myself for a while either. Atb Glenn

Fantastic video Sinclair! Enjoyed the history, scenery, and as always, your terrific music! I bicycle to try and stay fit for it's easier on my back than walking, and the only way I can get a cardiovascular workout. Mother Nature sure can challenge us with some nasty weather, you did well to press on. It was 35f here this morning, no frost but darn chilly for 12 September. Looking forward to part two. Take care, Ossie

Hi Ossie Thanks for dropping by my friend. Yes me and Ben get some strings and keys together quite well. I have a bike but Ive not used it for a long while. I just power walk about the streets to try and stay fit but alas not good enough for some of those hikes and climbs I do. I need to do more! Its not bad here again but the trend is down. We had frost a few nights ago but the day time temps are just fine about 15c to 18c. All the best my friend and look after your self. Prt 2 Tomorrow afternoon.

Excellent footage & a beautiful countryside over there Sinclair! It kind'of re-adjusts me from the Munros to other possibilities. I did visit Melrose several times but never realised the beauty of the countryside beyond it. You worrying about your too wet camera: there's one of the main reasons why this year I started on the GoPro (with the other camera in a waterproof bag). Waterproof for 60mtrs below the level of - say - Loch Trool ...
@pathfinderfergusfilms6630
@pathfinderfergusfilms6630 9 жыл бұрын
Hi Wilco. Like the North East of England Southern Scotland gets passed by as those who look for the wilds of the North shoot pass the Border regions. Doing so they miss what is quite a spectacular part of the country which is also rich in history. Yes the old camera has its limitations especially in wet weather. I'm slowly retiring it but reluctantly as its a very good and flexible camera. Plus it is really too bulky for the stuff I do out doors.
