I definitely like the current mindset of adding trails that are good for hours of riding. Sometimes those washes can fill with rain that falls miles away so it's probably good not to stop in them unless you can make a quick exit. With all the temperature extremes it has been windy this year. It's great as long as it's a tailwind

Yes, there are lots of signs on the trail to be careful when it rains. This is also true of the great trail system around Tucson.

Wow, I recognize that trailhead. I live in St. George and that is the Sullivan soccer fields. The Virgin River Trail is a very nice bike/pedestrian trail. Nice to see a video of our local trails. You can actually ride the trail from Sullivan soccer fields south to the Sun River community, about 20 miles.

Great stuff! I am from So. California and have ridden that trail every year since 2017. I rode a little of the hell hole trail once, but I leave that alone. They don't call it hell hole or nothing! I will be ridding the virgin river trail, along with some other wonderful Utah trails in a couple of weeks. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the great video. it brought back memories. My family rode that trail many many many years ago on our bikes when our boys were little. It all looks much more developed now. Be sure to check out Snow Canyon State Park while you're in that area.

I have one with aBafang mid drive you might think about the Dumont with the suspension both are excellent trikes.

Enjoy your 559 and congrats!
@kenmcclow89632 жыл бұрын
I like my 559 a lot. If the trail is fairly smooth you don't need a suspension, but once in awhile I hit a bump that makes me oof. I assume the rear suspension would help with that, but it is added complexity and cost. I added a Tongshen mid drive with a torque sensor to help me on steeper and longer hills. On level ground I just shut it off. With just my front middle gear, I can't pedal much faster than 17 mph which is fine for trails. I have thought about adding back the derailleur and large front ring to go faster if I road ride.
@markfeldman65092 жыл бұрын
@@kenmcclow8963 …I’ve ridden a 559 many thousands of miles trouble free. They are awesome. As I ride finely groomed trails I found no need to spend the $800 for suspension that comes with the Dumont( and the added weight). The 559 is plenty fast and comfy. I also ride a 700 which is faster than anything but a little tougher on rougher rides. Both are incredible machines. Enjoy your 559.
