I fell in love with St.Ives the first time I went there in 1976, It was a glorious summer and we had sunshine every day for two weeks. It was a joy to see this video. It brought back memories of a similar storm I experienced there but it was in summertime! Unfortunately the journey is a bit much for me now as I live in the north east but St Ives will always be precious to me. Thank you so much.

I was supposed to travel to St. Ives from the USA for my first ever trip to GB when covid hit. I am not sure I will be able to travel that far now that I am 76. It was my dream to see Cornwall. My mobility isn't as good as it used to be. 😢

This is how I always imagined G.B. to look like in the wintertime. Except I pictured a Victorian house on top of a cliff with the waves pounding upwards. Sort of like in the movie The Ghost And Mrs. Muir. GG from Texas.

At last!...an excellent vid that doesn't spend have it's time pointing at the camera persons face. By the way, this storm is as tears in the rain compared to what can occur in SI...as an ex-resident, I can vouch for that! Example: that white balcony, upper right at 4.55...it replaced one taken away by Storm Imogen, Feb, 2016...completely!

That's a distinctly underwhelming storm, but nicely filmed. When are they going to stop trying to scare us by giving names to perfectly normal seasonal bad weather? One day they're going to name a 'storm' and nobody will pay the slightest attention to their bedwetting assurances that "Honestly, this one is gonna be truly bad" and it will be actually bad. And if they insist on naming bad weather why not call it something like Storm Skull Smasher or Roof Ripper or Forest Flattener? At least that way we'd get a laugh out of it unlike calling them namby pamby names like Ciaran and Doris etc.

@@jennyrobbins440 Earlier this week I heard on the telly about disastrous winds and ferocious waves lashing the NE coast during 'Storm Babet 'and seeing as that's exactly where I live I went and had a look..........Perfectly normal wet windy weather with waves crashing over the pier as they have done countless times before. I'm sure high winds do some damage and I'm equally sure they always have and always will but is that any reason for wetting our collective knickers with fright?

Plus if that's not bad enough, they even brought him right into the most dangerous place where the sea water was splashing right out onto him. Though at least they kept him on a lead. Unfortunately this is our future, and until humankind can make amends to correct our mistakes and bring balance back to our planet Earth, we will have hardships with our weather-system and it will get worst with each passing year and lives will be lost. This is international poetic justice to the damage we have made through greed, selfishness and vanity to our world. It’s not protests and ridiculous outlandish behaviours that is needed right now, it’s individual actions that is needed. If individuals were to correctly dispose their waste and recycle where necessary, even planting plants if they have a garden etc things can only improve. And those vegans who think that they are “doing the right thing” by not eating meat, their ply would mean a lot more if their plant-based dietary were from free-range fields but to be vegan means the constant killing of billion of insects to maintain their crops and not forgetting pesticides etc polluting the soils and underground water sources. In order for humankind to be better for our planet, humankind need to be honest with actions, and it would help greatly if unity was achieved first.
