Thanks David. I lived in St Ives 40 years ago and your video really captured the essence of the place. There has been a lot of development since I left. I remember that traffic was allowed over the old bridge then! Loved the shot of the Lord Protector at the beginning.

I grew up in and around St.ives, went to secondary school there, still have family live there. Way back in 1978 there was a metal detecting shop in the alleyway of the wood framed building next to the bridge as you go into the town, just over the bridge going out of town was Sinclair electronics, of Sir Clive Sinclair fame, I used to work there. The town has expanded quite a bit since I left in 1986, I still visit family there and if I had the chance I would like to move back one day, the town holds lots of happy memories of my childhood and friends.

We lived in St.Ives for 11 years up until 1989 when we had to move away. Thanks for this delightful reminder of just how nice the centre of town is, much has changed and much is still the same, we had some very happy years there as our children grew up.

I went to school at St. Ivo. We moved to St.Ives as my father was in the RAF at Wyton. In later years I worked evenings at the Regal Cinema as a projectionist. I also opened a HiFI shop in the town centre. Before that I worked at the old mill, just over the bridge testing amplifiers for Cambridge Audio..... I now live in New Zealand. Anyone remember me??

Lovely town. Great video.I typically spend 2 weeks a year in Huntingdon visiting from the states. My daughter lives there. Visited back in March. A little sad because I would be planning my 2021 trip about now and not possible due to Covid.

@@arcadia449 I mean it depends on what you like really, if you like pubs, barbers and charity shops come to St. Neots. If you like shopping or going to night clubs don't come to St. Neots

@@mattinfullvision9598 Blimey! St Neots sounds just like Hertford, and many other towns?

@@arcadia449 I mean for me it's alright, it's somewhere you can go for a quiet life (with the occasional trip to the pub of course) but a lot of people who live in St. Neots can't wait to get out

Cambridgeshire isn't very lush. Hardly any trees. Just fields and shrubs. Such a shame. Nothing like Surrey or Kent
@alexandergunn51436 жыл бұрын
There are quite a lot of wooded areas, you just have to look in the right places.
