Please Support: / caribbeanpot In this episode of #Gallivanting we're at the St Jacobs Farmers' Market in Woolrich Ontario. While my parents did join me on this episode of #Gallivanting, they're not featured in the video (requested by them).
St Jacobs Farmers' Market is the largest year-round farmer's market in Canada, and is a popular destination for residents of the town and nearby communities, as well as tourists from Canada, the United States, and Europe. It draws about 1 million visitors annually.
It was established in April 1975. The main building of the market was destroyed by a fire on 2 September 2013. The market re-opened on 11 June 2015 in a restored and expanded $5 million facility.

Glad to see St Jacob's market up and running strong. This market bring back memories of when I use to live in Waterloo. Incidentally, I moved from Waterloo to Hamilton, Ontario to attending Sir John A. MacDonald.... Keep on Gallivanting Chris!

When I lived in Toronto I'd go there at least once every summer, I'd head straight to the indoor cheese shop and buy some 12 year old cheddar, couldn't find cheddar that old anywhere else. That went with the fresh bread bought at the bakery in St. Thomas, if memory serves me correctly they had over 100 different types of fresh bread on sale daily. Every food lover should make a point to go there at least once.

This should be all year round. I like this because it is healthier than stuff they import. They (companies that imports produce) have to use chemicals and stuff to keep them until they reach to the consumers. I hate the wax on stuff. Thanks Chris. Never heard of St. Jacobs market but will check it out for sure.

I don't find these prices high at all. Proof that everything is relative. I wish I could find this quality of food for those prices here in NYC.
