These women singing in beautiful acappella brings back so many memories of my childhood, worshipping with my mom, sisters & brothers, grandma, aunts and cousins in the 60's. Our church didn't have air conditioning either, and we fanned most of the service to relieve ourselves of the hot air, as we sweated and sang our hearts out. I appreciate this so much now, knowing the true meaning of these songs. Thank you for preserving this video.

I remember the deaconess in their white dresses. They were the backbone of the church. I remember the fans and fanning. The rhythmic tapping of the feet. The songs filled your soul. During this precious time in church all was well within, no matter how tumultuous life might have been on the outside.

So beautiful and so soulful. I've looked at the lyrics for this song and these are the most powerful lyrics that are around. When I try to transcribe the lyrics I have difficulty in three places. Does anyone know where these lyrics are written? If not can you tell me the lyrics that I cannot decipher in three places: "............... to sound so sweet, I guess my Jesus was talking to me." And "Oh I went in the valley where Jesus prayed, Oh I saw that.................. and I stayed all day." And lastly, "You can talk about me as much as you please, Oh the lord can talk ............... " Thanks for any help you can provide.

"the voice I heard it sound so sweet. Just like Jesus was talking to me" "I went in the valley one day to pray. My soul got happy and I stayed all day" "You can talk about me just as much as you please. The more you talk, the more I'm bending my knees"
