That’s what’s exactly missing in our culture: self sacrifice. Our culture has become very self centered. I believe that self sacrifice is the key to a successful marriage, and God will bless such a family. I pray the litany and a personal prayer to St. Joseph everyday, and I tell him that I love him many times during the day: Jesus, Mary, Joseph , I love you save souls, including my family. Yes, that book from Anne Catherine Emmerich, has wonderful scene's given to her from God Almighty, that are not in the Bible, but are nevertheless true (i believe in this private revelation, as we are told in the Bible, John 21:25 "But there are also many other things which Jesus did, which, if they were written every one, the world itself, I think, would not be able to contain the books that should be written." John 21:25, From the unchanged old version of the Douay Rheims Bible) I found, the most memorable from "The Life of Jesus Christ and Biblical Revelations" is the beautiful nativity scene and St. joseph's "actions!" That described scene...is really powerful...and especially, i would think as an example for men!

St Joseph is humble and loving!He reminds me of my father who likely wished for a son but he got a scrawny little girl. He just ignored that and taught me things a son would needed to learn. To help, I had ti know the name of every tool he had to help him work on his Dodge truck. He kept it running daily since It was just after WWII and there were no new trucks to buy! As someone who grew up fatherless, but had a WWII veteran-grandfather step into the missing role and model for me exemplary manhood by praying the Rosary every day, attending Mass, wearing a scapular, and having images of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Sacred Heart of Mary above their bed (his wife- my grandmother -were married for 50+ years) I now realize his quiet, holy manner was in imitation of St. Joseph. All of the vignettes in this film brought tears to the surface for me- however, the tears that fell are like a gift back to all those who shared their stories in this movie, to the producers, to every man who sacrifices for the sake of others- such as my own grandfather, who didn’t hand on possessions, but rather handed on his authentic faith, Catholic leadership in the home and, was a witness of St. Joseph by how he lived and silently “fathered” me in a humble way without seeking recognition or fanfare. He just did it, because it was the right thing to do. Stating this publicly feels like the right thing to do to honor the man who, while he was alive, lived like St. Joseph in how he spiritually led others to a stronger faith in Christ. The mother in the film who asked for no birthday gifts except that her son go to the Sacrament of Confession really moved me; he eventually became a priest. The spirit of St. Joseph moves my heart to do something similar- instead of a birthday gift, I will ask my adult children, and husband, to watch this heart-lifting, heart-changing film. Who knows what miracles will follow!? Much gratitude and prayers to everyone involved in this production, the viewers who made time to watch it, and the kind people whose previous comments inspired me to write one and share it. In all my years of watching faith-related videos, lectures or music online, I have always been one to read the comment sections, but never someone to write one. St. Joseph and Our Lady are giving me courage to write one now- my first one ever. This beautiful presentation has stirred my heart to write a comment- and that in itself is a miracle! I read the book “ The Lowly Life And Bitter Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ And His Blessed Mother Together With The Mysteries Of The Old Testament by Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich edited by Paul A Boer” This story of Jesus, Mary, Joseph is the best story I will ever know. It brought me so close to Jesus & his family. Now when I pray I can picture the history of Jesus & this time more vividly. My prayers mean more in my deep love for Jesus, as well as Mary & Joseph. What is needed so much documentaries like this to inspire us all at a very young age. Just brought lots of love and tears. My husband and my son put up a picture of St. Joseph.. this was done right over my son's room. He also bought me a statue of St. Joseph from St. Paul's .. London. He though has passed on in 2010.
