What next game? There was no next game. The Division 1 state championship game was always the last game of the weekend in California at that time

Up since 2011... Wow, how the heck did this escape me so long? I was there... and at all of Jason's games that season... And at all of his games the next, except for when the Pilots went to two big tournaments back East in December.

Kidd was playing with a rather banged-up back; he'd had some nasty falls during the playoff run the last few weeks before this game. An assistant coach spent every time-out massaging his back during this game... The lengthy TV timeouts helped a lot. Still, after a great start as shown in these highlights, his back stiffened up quite a bit in (I think) the 3rd quarter and Fremont took advantage... The Pilots were down by several points halfway thru the 4th quarter, but Jason got loosened up again... and took the hell over down the stretch!
