Saw these guys last Monday night in New York, Raised the roof off the place, killed it. People say all the time ah there is no good music left, I stop em and tell em, Well There are these guys and they are the best thing I've seen in a long time, Great on every level. Stunning band
@lazylion4205 жыл бұрын
absolutely one of the tightest bands I've ever seen playing live plus a legit frontman with a voice from another planet... if these guys can't go far then the music industry as we know it is truly dead
@30.06onaGrassyKnoll4 жыл бұрын
My friend hmu and asks if I wanna go to a show with her so I say sure who is it shes like st Paul and the bb... I said who? Ended up being 1 of the best shows I have ever seen. No crazy pyrotechnic bullahit show in an arena but small venue in San Diego outside virtually 10 feet from the ocean and boat docks. People get in their kayaks and watch free shows all the time. But anywho his voice his style his stage presence was mind blowing... i recommend everyone to see them live. And i agree if they dont become famous and wealthy from their music then the " music scene " is dead af.

With bands like them and Hyatus Kaiote (don't ask me to spell that) we got nothing to worry about. This is definitely my number one, though. Otis Redding Meets Simply Red Meets Beck Meets Shuggie Ottis meets electronica. Beautiful/powerful melodies. It's like time travel but also totally "now"

I came for Hall & Oates and fell in love with STP&BB! It was one of the best stage performances I've ever seen and a super awesome musical surprise. They blew my mind!! I saw after I arrived at the venue that "some band" was opening and I was like "Who cares? Bring on John & Darryl." Yeah, I left there wanting STP to come back on stage. Move over Hall & Oates!! This '80s girl has changed the radio station!

Soul music is a popular music genre that originated in the African American community throughout the United States in the 1950s and early 1960s. It combines elements of African-American gospel music, rhythm and blues and jazz. Soul music is a collective term for several forms of pop music that Black Americans pioneered from the mid-twentieth century onward. Genres grouped under the "soul" banner include rhythm and blues (R&B), urban blues, Motown, smooth jazz, and gospel music. St. P & the BB is a 'SOUL' band. ~

I don't care if this guy shows up in his underwear. As far as I'm concerned, when you can make your voice sounds like he does, what he wears is completely irrelevant. I'm sure recency bias plays a role, but last night's concert at the Sacred Rose Festival (Chicago) was one of the most transcendent live experiences I've ever had; truly and utterly magical. All my self-consciousness - incl. my everpresent internal critic - melted away, as if I was living in the present for the first time in years. I encourage everyone to look up more recent performances on KZbin. Last night's show was several orders of magnitude more powerful than this one. p.s. Part of the reason I never gave them a chance, I think, has to do w/ their name - religious, yet morbid - but also, their skin color (and judgmentally of me) Paul Janeway's appearance (their lead singer). I knew they were well-regarded, but bc they're white - as a "white" person myself - I dismissed them as classic soul appropriators. None of that matters anymore. Seeing them live is utterly transformational.

Been a fan since 2013 - great live band - GREAT LIVE band. Sorry fellas - in my opinion - the cape doesn't work. The suit and a subtle amount of humility works much much better than this cape! It distracts us/the audience. It seems like your trying way to hard - and it's unnecessary. I hope you guys get HUGE. Please lose the cape and whatever attitude that created it. Just a loudmouth fan with an opinion.
