Thank you Brent for sharing the wisdom of God . Just this morning I was talking bad about a priest in our community. You helped me realize that I am no different than the grumbler’s in the desert. I need to pray for him instead! God bless you!

It's so hard not to complain about the priests,bishops and pope! 🤨

Chris, exactly right. One thing I've noticed is the more I know and the more I prayerfully reflect on that knowledge, the more I recognize shortcomings in myself. And that's not fun, but I think it is necessary.

I sometimes read or hear people say that it's okay to complain to God, to express your anger and frustration to God. We read some of those sentiments in the psalms. These voices say: it's okay. God can take your anger. He's not hurt or offended by it. Is this good spiritual advice? Or is it, in reality, legitimising the sin of grumbling?
@janeyount84122 жыл бұрын
@@anthtan I think complaining TO God in our prayers is acceptable, but complaining ABOUT God offhand is not. That's the difference.

Many don’t realize they must submit as well as believe. I enjoy praying on my knees more than just at my bedside or while laying, it’s especially humbling, and I advise anyone to really change their lifestyle for Christ as they see fit. Fasting to master your flesh is also good I find !! But things like this can only be done when we invite the Holy Spirit and enjoy His wisdom, so you will see His work being done when you hunger for faith. I love being a Christian !! Very fascinating when you can see your growth with the necessary caution. Thank you for this video !

The typologies are insanely good, Moses strikes but doesn’t speak the second time. Moses doesn’t make it to the promise land, telling us that we should look for another deliverer, who name is Joshua which means salvation and they basically redo what Moses does but complete the mission this time. Telling us that the prophet that is like Moses will also complete the mission and bring about salvation(Joshua). There is so much more, but the connections are amazing.
@paulmiller34692 жыл бұрын
Yes, and when you consider that the name Jesus is a Greek derivative of name Joshua, it is even more profound. That's the thing with typology, or at least part of it. As Dr. Pitre occasionally tells us, the New Covenant (or Testament) is hidden in the Old, and Old is fulfilled by the New. That's at least part of the reason why Old Covenant types are never perfect, like the New Covenant people and realities they point us toward are, so they'll always give us enough to compare, but then you'll also see the contrast. In this case, Joshua completed the worldly exodus by occupying the promised land (itself a type of heaven here in the physical realm) while Jesus (aka Yeshua, aka Joshua) completed and continues to complete the new exodus.

The sin of presumption. Don't grumble and complain about the Sacraments and our Church leaders. Complaining leads to blasphemy. Thanks Dr. Pitre for this exegesis.
@jordand57322 жыл бұрын
The definition of complaining according to Google top search is 1. “express dissatisfaction or annoyance about something” and 2. “State that one is suffering from a pain or symptom of illness”. Is it really a sin, even just a step away from blasphemy? It seems like a normal conversation that I’d have with God. For example, I have health issues. I talk to God about how tired I am from them, how I wish he wouldn’t allow it etc. This really doesn’t seem like a serious sin, it’s just the natural conversation that follows from an uncomfortable life. What am I missing?

The national catholic register has a great article on complaining that I think finds a happy middle ground where complaints done in certain ways can be good and in other ways could be bad, depending on the reasoning for the complaint and the end goal of the person with the complaint. Highly recommend it as I think it goes well with this video. I can’t post the link, but if you search national catholic register complaining it will pop up as your first search result. Thanks!

@po18guy that’s really admirable that you’ve been through all that and praise god through it! If your post was to support the notion that complaining is a sin, I’m not sure it accomplishes that. I think it’s ok to complain and talk to God about your ailments. If you read the National catholic register article i mentioned, I think you’ll agree too. Take care!

We must not disrespect the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist lest we die in the wilderness before reaching the promised land. It is only justice that God command our respect for the Body and Blood of His Only-begotten Son because infinite reverence is its due.

The Gospel: Plain and Simple “But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.” - 2 Corithians 11:3 Ask someone today if they are saved and you will most likely hear responses like these: “I have accepted Jesus into my heart.” Or “I have made him Lord of my life.” “I’ve been baptized.” “I said a prayer.” Sounds all good and churchy don’t it; but it is difficult to de-termine whether or not a person actually knows the gospel that saves them. These useless phrases don’t describe a thing about what the gospel is and has left a devastating effect of people not knowing what it is that they are saved from nor how they are saved; which leaves a more serious effect of people questioning their salvation. Let’s not muddy the simplicity of salvation that is in Christ with vague church sounding phrases that do not communicate anything. But rather present God’s word with clarity and assuredness. So here is the gospel: plain and simple. Sin was passed upon all men by one man Adam, and death is a consequence of this sin (Rom 5:12). Mankind has an eternal destiny of condemnation and wrath - Hell - because of this sin (Rom 6:23). No matter what good works one might do we are still found sinners in the sight of our Creator God. And all unrighteousness and those who follow get indignation and wrath. We cannot be found righteous for by God’s law we are found sinners (Rom 3:19-20). If we have broken even one law we are found guilty. It is for this reason of not being able to create our own righteousness and being born in a sinful flesh that we need a savior (Titus 3:5). Christ is that Savior, God manifested in the flesh, sinless, died in our place on a cross 2000 years ago. Taking upon him the wrath and judgement that was intended for us sinners. And it is through his bloodshed, burial, and resurrection on our behalf that we are able to have peace with God and forgiveness of our sins (1 Cor 15:1-4, Col 3:14). This good news is unto all but only those that believe in it are made righteous in Christ (Romans 3:22). It is then after we have heard this good news of Christ’s righteousness available to us freely, that we are sealed with the Holy Spirit and we are now part of Christ’s body the church (Eph 1:13) There is nothing that we need to do, no good works that are required, and no bad works that can separate us from our new position in Christ (Romans 8:35-39). Faith and belief in this information from God’s word is the gospel. The gospel is not accepting Jesus into your heart. The gospel is not making him lord of your life, it is not saying a prayer and it is not being baptized with water. So next time someone asks you if you are saved. Give them the clear assured answer Yes And let me tell you why Find more free resources at www.graceambassadors.com

Have you read Mat 28:18-20? Should I believe you or Jesus? When Saul was "captured" by Christ enroute to Damascus, what did Ananias do to him after his eyes were healed? The commands of Jesus are everywhere in the gospels. Yet, you, born more than 2000 years later, out of nowhere declare yourself an authority.
