St. Paul’s byelection: Trudeau, Freeland address "disappointing” loss of Toronto stronghold

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke out Tuesday after the Conservatives snatched the historical Toronto stronghold of St. Paul's from his governing Liberal Party in Monday's federal byelection.
“I hear people’s concerns and frustrations,” Trudeau said, adding that his party is focused on getting Canadians “through these tough times.”
Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland said the result in the St. Paul’s byelection was “certainly disappointing” but that the prime minister continues to have the support of the Liberal Party.
“We know we have to work even harder delivering for Canadians [and] winning back the trust,” she said.
