@hansmemling23119 ай бұрын
I mean sometimes it is the fault of predecessors and could take a leader in a democracy decades or even a lifetime to change those things. A dictator can work much faster. But I do agree that he should blame who or whatever is to blame for not rectifying the mistakes made in the past right now. It’s easy and simplistic to blame something on your predecessor. It reaches the voters easier. It’s all a theatre basically, overly simplified dialogue to play the voter.

I will add that I am not 100% convinced about Mr. Poilievre because every politician that is not in the place of power offers salvation. But Trudeau does not seem to have a practical solution for the issue of affordability in this country. He also has done numerous things to undermine trust in his decision-making at this point. It has been a hard road for any government, particularly through COVID, so I don’t think he deserves blame for everything. I do still think it is time for a change.

If you want an economy to move... you have to incentivize the money to move. Poor people save money rich people spend it if you force them to invest it or lose it (inflation does this naturally as if they leave their money sitting it diminishes in value). If you want poor people to be able to save money you have to have a healthy economy and right now nobody has that because we've failed to keep the money moving and competitive by allowing mergers with minimal scrutiny I can't remember the last time a merger was disallowed because it would reduce competition. Taxing the 1% is a distraction from the real problem of failed antitrust law. What should always matter to you is how much money you have and how good a value you get for your tax dollars... if you are getting bad value that is whee the buck should stop, not hey why isn't the 1%er helping pay for my bad value goverment services. The 1% already has a job to do with their money and that is to fund the economy... because after the point of becoming a millionaire, there isn't much different in quality of life between a milllion bucks and a billion. And note this all can and has been done without force.... with the right incentives an economy can flourish naturally rather than be destroyed from the inside like ours is now.

Well to be fair taxing the rich more isn't always good for the average person. My country have lost most of our rich to countries like Swiss, Monaco and Luxembourg. The result? less jobs less development, and losing 0.5% tax from a billionaire is like losing 100k middle class families.

Offer an organization that offers a solution to the problem, and people will happily pay to donate to “wash” their money essentially while he keeps a small percentage, but a percentage never to be obtained if he had never started it. It’s all a big shady scam and it’s not just Canada, where do you think he learned it from?
