Thanks Ben. I was born and bred in Guernsey so a nice visit home for me - it has changed quite a lot. Now living in NZ.

I walked around this area during my short visit, Town church area, got a bite at the Terrance Garden, walked up Hauteville to the Victor Hugo house, down Havelet, to the Octopus then back to the taxi rank. What a wonderful place. Thanks for posting this.

You walked right past Victor Hugo’s statue, the pub closest to a church in the Uk, statue of Albert, should have started from the harbour mouth taking in the beautiful vista.

it's the closest Pub to a Church in Britain Not the UK as the Channel Islands are not part of the UK

Thanks Ben, very well done. Sadly, havent seen town and the shops that empty. Had no idea it was that bad, although I have heard, since I left the island some years ago.

Your welcome Steven it’s a beautiful island and the people are very friendly there I always enjoy my visits when I go. I hope to go again and do a video showing more of the island and what it has to offer.

@@benpayne5257 I was born in Guernsey. Lived there for ages, sometimes away, sometimes there. Now gone for good. Which I partly regret. I agree that it is one of the most beautiful places.

Would love to see what they have done with Bonamy House. My family are related to The Collins family that lived there.

I did not know that. My Grandmother was born there, they moved to St. Peter Port, then immigrated to the States in 1912.

Hi Ben, I'm a Payne from Newfoundland, lots of Channel Islanders came here several hundred years ago, including, as I've read, some Paynes. Do you have any family links to the islands?
