Even at over an hour long this tour is too short. As a builder, when I saw the flawless craftsmanship everywhere I wanted to stop and pay respect to the men who produced this masterpiece over the centuries. Something you could never do in the crush of visitors that are usually there . What a unique opportunity you had being there alone. This is one of the most truly overwhelming places anywhere, you are so lucky to have had it to yourself for an hour. . .

This is how it was the one time I've been there. I was actually shocked to see videos of lines stretching around the Vatican walls, and people packed like cattle into the museums. I was literally alone in front of Raphael's Transfiguration, the Pieta, and Leonardo's St. Jerome. I think I must've lucked out.

Seeing the Seat of St. Peter looking like a storage facility is sad... Since this Basilica is absent of followers, remove the barricades and seats!!! This is an excellent video tour of St. Peter's the best quality and most thorough that I could find. Only one major downside is in many cases you don't walk up to signs, plaques, and inscriptions like below statues, etc. long enough for the camera to focus sharp making it impossible to stop the video and read the sign. Very annoying.

St. Peters Cathedral alone is worth flying to Roma. Its such a impressive building! I was lucky that i was there several times but the last time was special. It was back in 2021 when we still had the corona madness and not many people where around. I visited St. Peters grave and was alone down there. After several minutes i though i might have passed something that says do not enter but there was nothing. I was alone down there for almost 10 minutes. The last time i saw it it was packed with people and you maybe had time to stand there for 30 seconds before someone else pushed you further. If you have not, go and see it with your own eyes. This Video is amazing but it does not show how large that building actually is. Thank for the video!

Okay, this is one of a handful of buildings currently existing in the world that exemplifies a pinnacle point in mankind's history of architectural and artistic expression. This structure has truly been an inspirational and instructional muse for me personally through my studies in art history, historic preservation, and historic conservation and documentation. Although I have yet to actually pass over this perfection's threshold, I feel as if I've been here many times. This recording is one of the best privately recorded examples I've yet seen, made remarkably special due to your footage being unspoiled with the crude and noisy impositions of the bawdy and unappreciating tourist crowded into the scenes. Thanks for posting this recording.

Good for a change ,the saints can rest in peace. Thought for a day : What does the Bronze Casting of St.Peter in Peters Basilica denote?
@mikelastname12203 жыл бұрын
"This ancient statue of St. Peter, portrayed as he gives a blessing and preaches, while holding the keys to the kingdom of heaven is famous throughout the world. Some scholars have attributed it to Arnolfo di Cambio (1245-1302), but others believe that it is a V century casting. Pilgrims who come to the Basilica traditionally touch and kiss its foot, so that it is literally worn thin. In the Middle Ages pilgrims who reached Rome, touched and kissed the foot of the statue and prayed to St. Peter asking that he be merciful and open the gates of heaven for them if they died during the pilgrimage. On 29 June, the feast of St. Peter, the statue is clothed with an amice, alb, tiara, stole, red cope and a ring so that it practically seems to come to life. Fine marble, Sicilian jasper, green porphyry and the "marble of St. Peter" decorate the pedestal. Tradition has it that the statue was commissioned by St. Leo the Great, as a token of gratitude for defeating Attila, and that it used the metal from the statue by Giove Capitolino." I put my hand on that toe in November of 1969 and then kissed it, following in the footsteps of zillions of other Catholic pilgrims.

@@mikelastname1220 2000 years & the truth of Christ is still not known. The Bronze image of St.Peter in Peters Basilica denotes the "The Two Commandments of Love" (right hand) that HANG in the the two keys of heaven (left hand in a sling). Incidentally the universal Doctrine of the Church. Said Jesus : "In the two Commandments hang the Law & the Prophets" Futher said he " I come not to destroy the Law & the Prophets but to FULLFIL & when he would Judge man (the Judgement that the Bible speaks off) which would be by the said two Commandments, the Standard, then that would amount to fulfilling the Law & the Prophets , as decreed by him. Just about 5 seconds of a good shot and then we could pause it and read the lengthy ones. The church has libraries of the world that they stole from various countries they conquered. One comes to mind straight away, WHAT happened to the Library of Alexandria? It burnt down, right and it did, but not before everything was crated up and put of Roman Galleys and sent to Rome where all they stole from that Library now resides, not to mention libraries, sculpture etc you name it they stole it. It is now housed in the Vatican Libraries. Julius Caesar was related to the Piso family Dynasty through the marriage he had with his third wife the daughter of Calpurnius Piso. The Piso's are responsible for the writing of the New Testament. The Pharaohs of Egypt were responsible for the writing of the Old Testament. Cleopatra wife of Marc Anthony was related to those Pharaoh's and Marc Anthony was related to the Piso family. They were the only ones writing, they were educated, they were clever and they wanted to keep people slaves and ignorant, and if it wasn't for the printing press we would still be in that ignorant state. They wrote everything about history they pretended to be people who we think of in history that were actually, fictitious people that they made up, like Jesus, like Paul, like Peter, like older historians like Herodotus, Philosophers etc. They used alias names/Penn names. Calpurnius Piso was Jesus he wrote himself into history as a god or a son of god. Paul was written by Plinny the younger, and Peter the Rock was actually Calpurnius Piso as well. They had hundreds of alias names which they were writing under as though they were an actual living being. Not so. The Vatican is hiding this from people, and people are still fooled by them. I will give you an example of something that Calpurnius Piso once wrote. Piso also wrote as Apion, in one of the books written by him he says that if he were to make up a bullshit story so fantastic and bury in the sand (or in caves) for a few thousand years, that when it is finally found it will be history. Philo of Alexandria was one of Calpurnius Piso's alias names as was tacitus, as was Marcion of Sinope AD 140 as was Apollonius of Tyana, Flavius Philostratus, there are thousands of writing attributed to the Piso Fl avian Dynasty family. Flavius Josephus the so called JEWISH historian was actually Calpurnius Piso. That family wrote the New Testament. They had the old Testament writing through the line of Queen Cleopatra. Ptolemy I Soter, Macedonian general of Alexander the Great, who became ruler of Egypt (323-285 bc) and founder of the Ptolemaic dynasty. Relatives of the Piso Family, the oligarchy wrote our histories. The reason they could write about something that was gonna happen was because it had already happened and they wrote about it hundreds of years later. Like the temple that Jesus predicted would be destroyed. The Roman's were very clever indeed.
@mikelastname12203 жыл бұрын
Wow! And YOU are the ONLY person on Earth who knows all these secrets?!!! Amazing! You are a first class bullshit artist. Got to give you credit for coming up with all these accurate historic names, but that's about it. The rest is your imagination. How come scholars over the world are not writing about this great discovery of yours? Are you another DiVinci Code wannabe book writer?
