the room is very dark but it is nice. were there activities there like snorkeling ?

Yes there were, although the activities are operated by a third party vendor and it will be cheaper to book with them directly. There are many of such vendors at the beach.

How far is the hotel from town?

The hotel is about 10 minutes by car away from Kuah town, Langkawi's largest town. The roads are narrow and can get quite congested during peak hours. However, most necessities can be easily delivered via Grab.

Would you recommend renting a car or using taxis if you're staying at this hotel ?

We preferred to Grab between places as they were cheap and readily available. We considered renting a car but after reading some reviews online about the difficulties of parking, we decided not to.
