Oceana Restaurant & Bistro was our favorite place for fine dining on a recent trip in June 2023. Great seaside location in Frenchtown and again the food was amazing. Virgilio’s was a nice Italian resturant. If you are looking more for local and authentic we found Rancho Latina to be quite good for that Latin Caribbean food vibe. Malorie Restaurant had amazing views (you must dine at sunset) and a nice Caribbean menu for fine dining that is easier on the pocketbook than say Prime.

Right, I love open air Restaurants! Even New York has outdoor restaurants now because of Covid restrictions. I like it, but need it to be a bit warmer before I enjoy to sit outside in New York. For now I'm good with outdoor seating in the Caribbean haha 🤗 You would probably love Lanai, the Taco Boat and Prime! 🤩

I worked in the main dinning room at Lime Tree back in the late 90's. Was very nice back then as well. It was located above where you were sitting. They had a piano singer playing in the evening. Harry Jack was the very well known bartender at that time. Those were some wonderful times. Glad you enjoyed your time there.

Great recommendations! I went to Pesce too, the staff was rude. Food was good though! We loved Easterly so much! I liked the food & service at Glady’s and Sushi Sake place in Red Hook plaza! Agave was great too! U.S.Virgin Islands is such a great place! ❤️

Thank you so much Devangi, so happy you found them helpful! ❤️ I always feel like there are so many restaurants to choose from, so nice to actually see a video of how most of them look like you know 😎 But wow, that is so crazy that the staff was rude to you guys too! So sad, because it's a nice looking restaurant, but the service was horrible! I heard so many good things about Glady's, so I can’t wait to check that out! We wanted to go to Sushi Sake when we were there, but it was so hard to get reservations during the holidays when we were there. But yeah, we loved the Easterly too! 🥰

Hi! thank you so much for this video. Do you remember the name of the dish on 4:45 ? With out planning it I randomly chose to be at the islands for mothers day weekend so I just thought about taking my wife to a nice restaurant for dinner and I think prime at paradise point is perfect.
@CamillaJohannesen3 жыл бұрын
Hii Daniel! Thank you so much for watching it, I'm happy you found the video helpful! So both my husband and I tried looking for the name of that dish now on their menu, but we can’t find it. I think it was a special on the menu that night. But I'm 99% sure it was ostrich. So I would just call them and ask if they have that, or ask for the dish they light on fire haha. And yes, Prime is such a stunning restaurant, you can’t go wrong bringing your wife there!

We went to Prime restaurant on your recommendation. I have to say although the view was spectacular and the service was great, the food was tasteless. Also in order to get that spectacular view you have to drive up a mountain. The road is so narrow and had no side rails. The food was not worth the feeling of falling off the mountain and losing my life. My recommendation is don't drive yourself take a taxi if your still interested in trying the food.

Hi Kayla! Thanks so much for the positive feedback, that really fuels me to make more of these videos. Hii Claire! Awww, I wish you the best time ever, great place for that! So every time we are there, we usually day drink on the beach etc. Coki beach has the best vibes! Also, Duffy's is hilarious at night, a great bar, with fun drinks! I know they had a hooka bar somewhere that is great, but I don’t remember the name sorry! Also, I would ask in the St. Thomas Travel group on Facebook, so many good recommendations there!

Are there dress codes in fine dining? Do men have to wear pants/ collared shirts/ closed shoes? Trying to pack and was just bring shorts.
@CamillaJohannesen2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching my video! I would say yes. My husband usually wears pants and shirt when we go out too nicer places in St. Thomas. From what I heard from the people who live there, that is what they prefer us to wear as well. Shorts and sandals might come across as disrespectful in some nicer restaurants. While you might see it, I've heard a lot of people complain about it. Hope that helped 🙏🏻

Do you know which restaurants can seat 7 people? Also, is indoor dining indoors, or is it still somewhat outdoors?
@CamillaJohannesen3 жыл бұрын
Hi Michael! So when we were there in August, and we were like 9 people, we had to split up at some restaurants because of covid rules. But we were able to sit inside all together at Old Stone Farmhouse! The rules have maybe changed now, but we were sitting both inside and outside. But most restaurants in December at least offered indoor dining!

Looking at the menu and décor of Easterly, it's a fairly high-end restaurant, but it appeared that they were serving paper plates and plastic cups. Did that surprise you?
@CamillaJohannesen2 жыл бұрын
Hi Tom! Thank you for watching my video, I really appreciate it. So yeah, I don’t remember why they had paper plates and cups, it was weird, and I was definitely surprised yes. But I do think it was a reason for it, like Coivd or some kind of restrictions. It appear that now they have regular plates and glass-wear. I just looked on their Google photos.
@Tunadavis2 жыл бұрын
Ok thanks. Which did you and your husband like better, Easterly or Mirador? I ask because you don't necessarily eat the same.
@CamillaJohannesen2 жыл бұрын
You welcome. Wee both 100% liked Mirador the best. We were incredibly lucky with our waiter, he gave us the best service we have ever received in St. Thomas. Also, the view from the cliff side and the stars above you is just impeccable. Easterly is very nice too, the decor is good, and it’s a good location. But Mirador was more of an experience. And my husband loves seafood, and the Turbot they gave him was phenomenal.
