Absolute legend for this mate! looking forward to getting this sorted, and getting her through her MOT.

Thanks for the video it helped a lot. I needed to replace trazistor, mine was MJF6388G . I use a tranzisor TIP102 as direct replacement for 2N6045G. It works on start, I am not sure if it works at 5000rpm.

Hi Does the spring is supposed to do a full turn ? I opened my IMRC and found a lot of aluminum dust : the long leg of the spring has « eaten » the side of tbe casing… So when I turn on the car the little just keep turning and never lock

poor fuel consumption and a loss of top end power

I have the same mate, have you found out any more about it? Only other thing I have found (assuming it's electrical outside of the IMRC unit) is a load of cables chewed up next to the air box where a pipe feeding into it has rubbed the cables underneath. I work on cables and I sure wouldn't pass it off so I'm gonna repair it and see if that sorts the issue. Because I found it quite puzzling that most people say theirs doesn't even pull when started, mine pulls but then releases
@LifesAbe-ach2 жыл бұрын
@@benrampling812 It's knackered... the pwm signalling that holds the motor keeping the cable pulled as gone .it looked firstly to be a diode blown ( small one on rear ) , replaced that to find the chip used was at fault . The chip is a injector chip ( used normally for injection units on fuelling ) it doesn't hold a continuous output signal so the motor looses holding torque releasing the cable .
@benrampling8122 жыл бұрын
@@LifesAbe-ach so they put an injector chip in from stock? And because injectors output is momentary and the IMRC needs constant we are both having the same issue? Do you reckon the car has always been this way then? I've been led to believe that the IMRC is closed by 12volts DC and opened by dropping those 12 volts. Which means that most people have a basic continuity problem be it a disconnection or high resistance but in our case we have the Continuity just the wrong chip to support continuous power?
@benrampling8122 жыл бұрын
I found a knackered old cable under the pipe from your engine to the airbox where the pipe had rubbed the conductors bare so hopefully that will be the cause, but I can't find anything online to tie the IMRC harness to that specific bunch of pairs. Although I suppose the fault could bridge over multiple components. I had long suspected an electrical fault because I have dashlight and interior lighting problems as well

hiya mate do you know by any chance what causes it not to spring back at 5000
@jpst1702 жыл бұрын
what happens is when you start the car the cable then pulls which opens the smaller ports on the manifold and when it hits 5k rpm it then closes the dual stage intake to the bigger ports... if it's not working at all then It will stay closed on the bigger ports. 🤓👍
