Stabby Legion is now surprisingly viable | Dead by Daylight

The add-on combination of "Stab Wound Study" and "Frank's Mixtape" used to be absolutely broken in the original Legion release. Using both add-ons, you could quickly stab a Survivor three times in a short duration and secure a down with basically zero counterplay. While not as strong as before, the recent buffs to these add-ons have made this strategy somewhat viable again.

*Update:* Survivors no longer bleed out during vaults/drops if they hold shift, so this style of play is now largely useless. Frank's Mixtape allows you to reduce the bleed out timer with every additional stab from Feral Frenzy. Paired with the Stab Wound Study (which reduces the starting timer) and with some forced vaults/pallet drops/extra stabs, you could down Survivors mid-chase but this isn't effective anymore.

Hi! Just tested this out with a friend, and it really doesn't look like vaulting or pulling down pallets decreases the timer at all. It was taking four power hits to down when the survivor is consistently running while vaulting and pulling down pallets. The only reason it ever took 3 hits is if the survivor stopped running during a mind game or accidentally slow vaulted TWICE. Legion add ons are severely underpowered and need an overhaul.

Hello otz, this is friend according to the hours of content of yours I've seen. I've been playing Ghostface with brutal strength, bamboozle, fire up and spies from the shadows. Spies can easily be replaced with your preferred intel perk but i like spies for ghostface because stealth mode makes it hard to hear crows sometimes along with spies just showing you crow alerts you can never hear. The rest of the Intel needs are covered by the iridescent addon security camera that reveals auras whenever a marked survivor is downed. I feel like this might be a build worth showcasing in your stream and I'd love to see someone else try it. Buenos dias amigo

Im a variety killer main, legions got lots of mobility which can be very good. All you need is the right perks to make him viable. This might be his strongest update since the nerfs, not because hes better but because his power counters BOTH boon totems.

I dont think any killers are necessarily bad, skill is the biggest factor at every level except the top. But it would be nice if the killer was the threatening part of their kit and not their add-ons or perks. Not saying I deserve to 4k if I bring nothing but I would like to add some variety to my builds and not feel railroaded for doing so. I'd assume it's the same on the survivor side but I'm not at a particularly high mmr with survivor yet so I wouldn't know. Sorry for the essay.

I have always had an idea for a legion rework that kinda taps into the whole “chase you down” and “death by a thousand cuts” vibe I get from them. I kinda thought about it where what if legions power didn’t reset when you hit someone twice, however they do not get mending on the first hit. So whenever you hit someone, they go to injured, then they get mending, and then you just keep cutting down the mending timer. Not only would this be a big buff (seeing as legion can just focus you after seeing their first target) but it would make legions power useful for whatever state the survivors are in. If your playing legion and you see an injured survivor, you would not pop your power, but then still lose it when you m1 them, so if you could choose to use your power on them or to find others, that would be using your power to the optimal choice seeing as you could choose down one survivor or hit a bunch of them. I feel like this could make the weird aspect of their power (of them losing it with just a basic m1) make more sense. The balance changes around this would be more around would their power reset every hit. I think it would be most balanced if it reset until you hit them in mending state. You do not lose your power hitting them in mending state, it just doesn’t reset. These are just my thoughts on a rework for them.

Just kidding, I like this idea a lot actually, also, about giving them a gun, my idea would be after 3 consecutive (so in the same feral frenzy) hits you pull out a gun with one shot and are slowed tremendously, whoever you shoot in the five second timer is instantly downed, and if you miss there’s a longer cool down, or make it so after 6 stabs (like stacks) on the sixth stab you pull out the gun so you could use it in chase, and for an iridescent add on make the gun a shotgun for easier shots and collaterals

I really don’t think new Frank’s Mixtape and Stab Wounds is a good as people think it is. Stab Wounds reduces the initial timer from 20 -> 15 seconds, Frank’s reduces it by 5 for each hit. Meaning it’ll take 4 frenzy hits to down a survivor, which will take at minimum 40 secs (20 second cooldown on each frenzy for the last 2 hits). You can get a 3 hit frenzy down, which is good. However it entirety relies on survivors wasting time, dropping pallets and vaulting windows does waste time but it doesn’t waste that much considering they have to waste 5 seconds. Leon slow vaulted twice and stood still, a majority of survivors aren’t going to do this (especially if they only have 10 seconds left on Deep Wound and are being chased). Almost every time it’ll be easier and more efficient to just down the survivor normally.

Otz is doing a strange strategy for this build, I'm not gonna lie. Using the survivor animations to get their Deep Wound timer down is viable, yes, but relies on the survivor to pull it off. Tatariu showed a different strategy of just tagging the 3-4 times until the survivor bled out from the timer. It's more time consuming, but if you feel like a mindless game of Killer, it could be fun. As someone who used to main Legion, I only play them when I feel like turning my brain off and stabbing things.

Even then, unless Tatariu is playing on a map like The Game he gets little value from the add-ons. Survivors on The Game specifically can make it to the next pallet a lot easier after being hit, making hitting them in frenzy slightly better because you can just vault the next pallet. And on the maps where these add-ons are more viable it's still at most 4 frenzy hits; you can't always rely on survivors not running or mending for 5 seconds. The add-ons are actually fun to use and getting a frenzy down is nice, but you then realise you're just hindering yourself in the vast majority of chases.

I always run study with the legion pin, because then it forces the survivors into 2 different choices, heal now and be broken, or get downed, and if you run nurses calling ontop of that it's just free downs

So, from what I've observed, SWS+FM means survivors start at 15 seconds from the 1st hit, which is reduced to 10 seconds with the second. Once your power comes back, you can knock them them to 5 seconds, which puts them well with range of vaulting/palletizing themselves to death. Or you can just Feral Slash them the 3rd time, and it means they can't loop you after the 2nd Mixtape hit, because 130% and medium vaults means you can pretty much catch them no matter what.

And, for reference, survivors take 1.5, 0.9, and 0.5, for Slow, Medium, and Fast Vaults respectively. I think survivors always Fast Vault pallets(?), instead of Medium, and I don't know how long they stand still when dropping a pallet. If somebody knows, that would be handy information.

I've been wanting to main legion for the longest now because I just enjoy his play style of constantly rushing around the map but have been hesitant because he is constantly deemed as one of the weakest killers. Might try this out

The Legion may be one of the weaker killers, but I’ve played them since they came out. With the right perks (Thanatophobia is a surprisingly big one) and accepting that you need to spread your power out before committing to a chase (try to hit all four survivors, though at higher MMR there’s no guarantee of that, they spread out often) thus slowing everyone down passively. If they heal they’re wasting time because of how easy it is to injure as Legion, if they don’t they’re easier to down and Thanatophobia gives some big value. Outside of that, you just need to improve at basic M1 chases, that’s a big part of the killer. They’re much like any other killer who doesn’t have a strong chasing power.

NGL idk if it's being mentioned but at 2:30 you see the cheryl, we know they have sprint burst. Even if they've just refreshed the cooldown and have it enabled between 2:30-2:33 (give or take 1s) the line otz takes (and in my opinion as someone who has almost 1.5khours as killer and surv) feels super unrealistic for the surv to be that far ahead to the point where it looks like lag was the determining factor in them dropping that pallet for the stun or not, which only occurred because they failed the mindgame super hard and held position.

I main Legion and I think she's really good. 9/10 games I get 3-4k with at least 2 gens left. Her map pressure is absolutely god tier. I can get them to drop so many pallets while just using frenzy, keep them off gens and when it's time to slaughter the map is full of dead zones. Love it. Would it be too OP if Legion had an additional active ability to hide his terror radius for 10 seconds? He can’t attack and would run like a survivor, giving him more of a surprise element. It would at least make him resemble the Legion we saw in the trailer.

Honestly reducing the bleed out timer with legion's power should be basekit. It also fits their theme of stabby killers
