For the speed of the orbit Vs the day night cycle. seems the sun is moving around the planet and not the other way around. Craft moves very little over the planet but there are like 30 day night cycles. Should be the other way around. the object moves along faster than the day night cycles.

Bighappy If the orbit were almost geostationary earth would indeed move much less than the sun from the spacecrafts point of view. However I have no idea if the orbit here were geostationary or not.

I agree with the other commentators. The day/night cycle is wacky. They should focus on the earth having a natural circle. And as far as the earth goes, afair nasa was going to upload daily pictures. And as far as clouds go, Desktop Earth does mostly a good job of capturing it (it is more or less live). Don't know how they do it, but if it was a bit more detailed that might work great.
@bratwurst_addict7 жыл бұрын
I have to correct myself. The day/night cycle is completely off. While you barely moved 3,000 miles the day/night cycle happened 3 times or what? That's not what I want to see. It's like you move 20mph..

Randomness aka disasters and emergencies will be in next update. According to the official announcement: "The update after Perihelion will be called ‘Blackout’ and will include both Orbital Management and Disasters & Events. Following that will be ‘Umbilical’, adding Advanced Truss Structures and Pressurized Mechanics features. Finally, ‘Zenith’ will add the remaining features from the game’s roadmap, ultimately leading to the game becoming the official 1.0 release."

Is... is the Sun orbiting Earth in this game? It seems to go screaming across the cosmos shockingly often. Usually I think it takes a year for the Sun to do that (or rather, to _appear_ to do that as we take a full lap around the Sun), and here it does it several times in the space of a single orbit. My first thought was that it's taking several days for us to orbit the planet, which is already strange. But in fact it seems to be taking several years.

maybe add docking and fuel for other space programs, gain money from renting out your station to other space programs?
@JCU327687 жыл бұрын
Launch planner will be good. Planning a cargo planning per launch, more food or a new module or replacement parts. Randomly delayed launches or even crashes with money and cargo loss. A time is needed to build module on surface, then plan to launch, and launch may be delayed or (rarely) crashed after all. Space ships that can and can't return something to surface, manned and pure automatic, crew illness and spare landing pod docked to station for that case. Crew time planner with sleep, work, daily sport and medical selfcare hours. Time planning adjustment must be needed in case of emergency, illness or after a hard work. Module maintennence and failures. Periodical orbit adjustments and onboard fuel.
@doorhanger93177 жыл бұрын
This might not be very popular, but it's 2034, right? Why not add space pirates, companies who are looking to take over your space station in the international waters of space. This would mean you would have to build defenses and add a whole new dimension to the game. Maybe it should be a mode not enabled by default, but it would certainly be more interesting

Weather is coming in the full release. the other new thing in this release is collision detection. I feel like this gets really boring at some point, so i agree that some randomness might be one solution to this problem. Though, i also think it would be awesome to have the possibility to manage several more stations later in the game, perhaps around other planets or at other inclinations, at the least to get a change of scenery. Also, it could be awesome to manage a base on another planet, at some point.

Andrew Hannus Hey, as viewers of epic Scott Manley, we know how space games should look. I played KSP Realism Overhaul a lot with full of eyecandy mods, which looks almost like this, has real-speed spinning Earth. I saw tons of KZbins doing so. Nothing was problematic.
@andrewh61887 жыл бұрын
+윤형석 The difference here is that's a mod that does that, which are optional, but the base game is different because you can't chose whether or not to have a strobe effect. The workaround to that is to have an option, that is also defaulted off, so normal people that go into the game at least have a warning before they turn it on. Not everyone wants a strobe, and some people can't take it.

Besides the _highly disorienting_ geocentric universe, the most disappointing part about this game for me is the title. 'Stable Orbit' to me implies there must be the possibility of unstable orbits, meaning some n-body physics. The update is called 'Perihelion', again implying to me that there must be some kind of orbit changes in this game. All these labels set me up to be disappointed. Normally I'd say something about "KSP has spoiled us" here, but this ticks me off more because these are awesome titles that could be used in future games, and instead they seem like science-y space words chosen for the cool factor, and to imply more depth than the content actually contains like a B-side, straight-to-dvd Syfy tv-series.
@Baleur7 жыл бұрын
The graphics are just too awful for a game that only renders a single sphere, with a moderately detailed space station in the frame. I dont want to look at that for 10 hours. This aint just about snobby eyecandy, this is about not wanting to play a game that does such a disrespectful job of not showing the true beauty and splendor of our planet / space. I'd rather just watch a nasa ISS livestream without any "gameplay".
