I have a Staccato P also, I was wondering what division you ran it in? I have an optic on mine and am told I have to compete in the Open division because of the mag well and optic

Whoever told you that needs to read the rulebook better before giving guidance. You must shoot a 2011 in Limited or Open division because its a single action only pistol. So yes, you need to shoot Open, but not only because of the magwell and optic.
